Hello everyone,

I wanted to upgrade my mac to 10.11 but saw that I need to disable the system Integrity protection for a lot of games on GOG. BG1&2, AWD, all the divinity games, PT,...

I get that it is an extra protection from apple and they do it for a reason but can I just disable it without any problems?
Can GOG with time do something on this to make it work without disabling it, make them compatible again?

Hello Ekuar,

The reason that SIP needs to be disabled, is that all the affected games are using a Wineskin wrapper that needs to install extra software to your computer that SIP doesn't approve. At least, according to this Mac user (I'm not a Mac user myself). Since the Wineskin application that is used isn't developed by GOG itself (but used with permission), I guess that before GOG can do anything, the person who develops the Wineskin application would have to find a way around the SIP and update Wineskin as necessary.

And here is the message from the Wineskin developer:
Wineskin does not currently work correctly on El Capitan. The issue is being looked into, but I have no ETA for a fix. I'll get a fix out as soon as I can.

Some people have been able to upgrade to the latest version of XQuartz, and change their wrappers to use XQuartz and not WineskinX11 and have gotten wrappers to work, but this method has not worked for everyone.

Thx all,

Good to hear that the Wineskin developer is looking in to it. I will follow his progress.

Update: Wineskin is updated for El Capitan, so GOG should be able to update the games affected by this problem.

Found an easy working solution.

1. Right click on the game
2. Show package contents
3. Navigate to the exact game package (in my case : /Applications/Planescape Torment.app/Contents/Resources/game/Planescape Torment.app)
4. Right click on it
5. Show package contents (you will find: Contents, drive_c, Wineskin)
6. Double click on Wineskin
7. Screen Options
8. Check the checkbox: Use Mac Driver instead of X11
9. Done
10. Close the Wineskin
11. Now you can run the Game without any problem
