MysterD: ^ is going to snail-mail his GPU to MysterD.
EDIT: (reply)

^ He is factually incorrect. Primarily, because his motherboard could not handle a CPU which would not bottleneck with the output of my previous GPU.

^ I might think that he had been spying on me, but I have no windows in my gaming room.

(nevertheless, he underestimated me)

^ wishes he was as nerd-cool as me and had a 8gb VRAM RTX 3070 desktop GPU like I do.

^ Coined the phrase "surely no one will ever need more than 1GB of VRAM" back in his younger days
^ Assumes too much, as hardware and software changes rapidly.

Also, my first real GPU was a 64mb GeForce 2 MX 400.
Heck, I remember in 1995, when GPU was integrated & they weren't entirely a thing/requirement for most games yet.

^Wanted a Voodoo card, but was afraid of curses.

(edit: in 1995 I had a S3 Virge chip, which did support biliniear filtering, but games became slower. And in 1996 it proved to be highly incompatible with DirectDraw, the demo of Jedi Knight having massive graphic glitches (and running slower than in software mode). That convinced me to buy a 3dfx Voodoo with 4MB RAM in 1997, just in time to experience the game in all it's glory, followed by 3dfx versions of Tomb Raider, Pandemonium and Croc. Updated to 2 x Voodoo2 later).

Iirc, mine was a 12MB Voodoo 2....which I got to be able to play games like NOLF on my newly ordered PC.
Blames a FlipWitch for letting the dog out.
^ Wanted a Voodoo card, but they were too expensive, so he got a Diamond Stealth 3D instead... no wait, that was me.
