Is this game hard to get into modern day? I understand that some games are so old that they are painful to play and get into almost. Is This one of them? Or is it pretty easy to get into?
For me is a masterpiece oh my childhood
It's not difficult and if you have played games like civilizations it'll be easy to get into for ya
I've mentioned this just recently, but if you are interested in Master of Magic, and are afraid it might be a little too antiquated, you should consider the Age of Wonders series. The older the game in the series, the closer to Master of Magic's gameplay formula you get.

Pretty easy actually. It's like playing original Civilization but with magic.
The graphics are just as muddy as Civ too.

There is plenty of help to be had in the sub-forum if you need help understanding the game.

The biggest change from most strategy games is probably remembering that the little figures in a unit actually matter; the unit stats are per figure, and those little figures do die as the unit takes damage.
Well, I once tried the GoG-Version and it was too hard for me....

Not exactly. Age of Wonders 2 & Shadow Magic are more similar to Master of Magic's mechanics than the first Age of Wonders is (Although is obviously inspired by it)
The Fallen Enchantress and Sorcerer King games are also very MoM-like.
The only hard part for me is that there is no set campaign. Otherwise the gameplay is stellar and easy to get into.
It's ancient, but on my list of all-time faves. Definitely worth a try.

There are some ways to fiddle with the graphics that help the appearance. See the subforum, as has been mentioned.

Have fun and good luck!
For me it is, but then this is the game that brought me to GOG in the first place.
Cool, thanks everyone :)
