Unverschamter: Actually, here's the odd thing here... however this was done, it's more likely GoG would actually have some sort of key available for Prime Members that Get Twitch Prime. I've been on a Prime Account for years, and have recently discovered the joys of Twitch Prime.
Anyway, for this entire thing to be legit, there basically has to be some sort of agreement between SNK as the Publisher and/or GoG and/or Amazon as well. In what combination would the agreement be, I've no idea, and honestly, I'm often surprised (pleasantly though) to see retro games popping up on different services; however I'm honestly not sure if SNK is actually still in business in and of itself as a publisher, and when a publisher closes, lot's of odd things can happen to the rights, so whoever's actually got the rights to SNK's content at this time, seems to be primarily GoG.
Bottom line, this is definitely one of the right places to have this conversation, and there has to be someone at GoG that could at least interject on this thread and give us all some sort of lead to follow so that we can use the full functionality of the Twitch Prime copy of Metal Slug 3 that a lot of Prime members redeemed, and it wouldn't be the least bit surprising if some conversation with either Amazon or Twitch was required as part of additional follow up, but GoG support "should" have most of the information.
Anyway, apparently the process to get the full functionality for multi-player would be (after having done a ton of research on this subject)...
1 - Add the game using the "Scan" feature from the GoG client by pointing directly to the folder Twitch Prime installed Metal Slug 3 to (...or the folder Twitch Prime was instructed to use during the installation process of Metal Slug 3 by the end user)
2 - Redeeming a key also appears to be a requirement.
3 - The key for Metal Slug 3 (obviously the key is unknown, but there'd have to be one associated with the game for each account holder even though it's a free copy for Twich Prime members), would be added through the GoG client after selecting Metal Slug 3 from the new library entry in the client from the import by clicking the "Connect Now" link at the bottom followed by finishing the reCapthca.
That's basically what the process is "supposed to" and "should" be, but apparently, giving people proper keys to redeem would've been a team effort between GoG (since it's their distribution of Metal Slug 3) and Twitch Prime as the point of distribution (where the benefit is redeemed through the Twitch Desktop Application's "My Games" tab. Undoubtedly any argument about who was supposed to send what is between Twitch and GoG. In this case, Amazon would've most likely simply only been the sponsor of the offer without much more significant involvement than that.
Bottom line, "Somebody at GoG and/or Twitch Prime needs to start sendin' out some keys for Metal Slug 3" to account holders that qualified for the redemption of the free Twitch Prime Metal Slug 3 offer.
Hope this info helps, and at some point, those that got the offer can actually enjoy some Metal Slug 3 multi-player once the different groups figure out who should've been sending out keys in the first place.
Oye-vay! Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July.
is the "Operative Word", but you are definitely Correct.
Twitch and Gog are like Twitch and Steam.
Twitch puts up Offers from other Platforms, but, that doesn't mean we "own" the actual game.
I found Metal Slug 3 just using GOG Galaxy Search, but unless I purchase from GOG at this time, Online Multiplayer is unable to Connect per GOG.
Slick way to say - Demo our Platform that looks similar to Steam.
Twitch went the way of Discord.
...They just forgot to Unlock Multiplayer for us....
