There’s nothing like a smile to chase away a gloomy atmosphere. That’s why we’ve decided to dedicate this Midweek Sale on GOG.COM to funny titles with discounts reaching even 90%. Here are some of the games that will make your day:

Broforce (-75%) is an explosive action game about an under-funded, over-powered paramilitary organization dealing exclusively in excessive force.

Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry (-75%) is a point and click adventure game where we help a not very successful seducer Larry Laffer on his search for love.

Worms World Party Remastered (-80%) is a famous artillery game where up to 6 players at once can lead their worms into whacky multiplayer mayhem.

Join us in making this week a joyful one. The latest Midweek Sale on GOG.COM will last until 23rd January 2021, 2 PM UTC.

toxicTom: Since you want learn (more) German, and are already pretty advanced - the Edna and Harvey games would be perfect. Originally German, really good writing, and the better sort of "German humour" (which can be painful). Chat me up if you don't get something.
I have played Harvey's New Eyes last year and I found it nice and I'll play the Breakout for sure :) Edna & Harvey should have had a comic book series!
By the way, do you remember these from Zillo magazine?

ahah ich weiß es, but the story was clear anyway, I could replay them in order when I get the first...you know I'll be busy with Disco Elysium next :) and got the Inner World on Big Fish for free the other day, that's a German game too I believe. From the little I've played it's neat.

The nice thing about The Breakout is, that they weren't under much time and budget pressure. You can use almost anything with anything else and get a different reply from Edna (or Harvey). And almost everything of it is funny in some way. Really insane.

wolfsite: I've played it and it is a lot of fun, lot of tongue in cheek movie references. I would recommend playing in short bursts, the ending theme alone is worth finishing the game for.
Thanks! For me those references were the most interesting thing in trailers. Looked great. And fun.

Great, I can lose myself in these things in a game in German or Japanese. Something I enjoyed of the second game was that I could listen to the same sentences (dialogue options and comment on things) all the times I wanted - many other adventures don't allow that. But I still had to play with English subs, now I can play all German and get almost everything. I'm sure that some joke flied over my heard though so a replay will still be fun. I also have many games I have played in English I can replay in German, like the Lucas Arts stuff etc.

I don't really dig how Broforce looks (not my favourite kind of pixel art) but now I'm intrigued.

Decided to give a chance to three parodies, strong enough in their cores to bring out some real joyful smile, understanding, and sympathy.

https://www.gog.com/game/irony_curtain_from_matryoshka_with_love_revolutionary_edition a parody of Soviet Communism and its despotism, intertwined with spy atmosphere and surprised main character, led by a seductive Lady Ana Iglov ...very promising game : ) puzzling -70%

https://www.gog.com/game/broforce a parody of American Commando picture where everything, including terrain, can be shot off or blew up and a sense of righteousness and last humanity chance in the fight against all evil is overwhelming enough to forget the world and save it ... what a wonderful game : ) mindblowing -75%

https://www.gog.com/game/botanicula a parody of Nature`s Nature, where bigger and scarier organisms are trying to help with overcoming even scarier organisms, while we are a group of four friends seeds and we are tiny on a great tree, laughing at our insignificance, using micro-skills to help our Tree of Life to release itself from dark parasites threatening our branches... naturally beautiful : ) kids can play too -70% (played before)

How's Broforce? Some scenes from trailers are hilarious, indeed, but I'm still not sure about it. This type of games should offer demos to allow player to check a gameplay/mechanics.

I've decided to go for Gibbous. Not as funny as I expected, but it has its moments. And visuals are stunning - I love this kind of hand drawn graphics in point and click games.
