Are the Might And Magic games worth playing today? I am new to the series although i play Heroes Of Might And Magic Games often. The problem is I don't understand where to go or how to attack. The map is very limiting. And it leaves
me totally confused what to to do next. From the gameplay I have seen so far it looks like a great series of games but
how does one learn to play these games properly?

Another very important question I have: do these games have replay value?

If you plan on playing the whole series - you won't need "replay value"... ;-)

As for playing them today... depends on your being able to look past the rust... You will have to read the manuals. I personally find them bearable from part 3 on - but YMMV. Maybe look at a few longplay videos to get an idea if they're for you.
Are you talking about the Might&Magic RPG games, or the Heroes of Might & Magic tactical strategy games? They are not similar series at all.

I have played Might & Magic 6-8 and enjoyed them overall, and would play them today as well.

Of the HoMM series, I've played only the first one so far. It is ok, I guess. Maybe not quite my type of genre, I guess.

it is very important that i know if there is replay value for these games. so no jokes please. just a yes or no would suffice.

I did look at a few gameplay videos and I love the gameplay but it is so frustrating to check every nook and cranny just to find someone or something. The only reason I wanna play these games is the loot and the variety in classes and the spells. That is what is so alluring. These games have a ton of those. But again most of the dungeons look the same. The heroes series on the other hand still holds up really well. I don't mind the old graphics but the gameplay is very accessible there.

Story and maps stay the same. But there is some replay value when you play the games with a different party and therefore need different strategies.

I don't think you understand exactly how many gaming hours each of them can take from start to finish. Depends how much of a completionist you are the first time, but some of them can take over 100 hours of gameplay to build up your characters and equipment and explore everything.

100 hours per game is a low bet, if your really want to explore every nook and cranny... I know people who spend well over 300 hours in Worlds of Xeen.

If you're used to modern games it can be a bit daunting to play these older games, especially when it comes to the minimal view. I often catch my self in thinking "I wish I could see more on the screen" :D

To be fair; in those days without internet, too many things around etc, one put an effort in figuring out how a game worked. Often without help from anybody else. It's easier today if you get stuck or are wondering about something since you can always ask for help or watch a playthrough.

But yes, they do have replay value, but like mentioned before, if you play them all you're going to have to invest A LOT of hours into them, but it is worth it. Patience is the key here, as these are not some run-and-gun-down, fast-paced action game :)

I would be glad if someone made a video tutorial on how the combat and spells and all basic stuff in these games work.

The Six-Pack (M&M 1-6) includes a 300+ page manual and also the cluebooks. If that's not enough for you and need a video - the games might not be for you.

The games are non-linear, so you can try exploring areas in a different order. For a challenge, see if you can find a way to survive in the more dangerous areas early in the game; it might be a challenge for new adventurers, but in some cases the payoff can be huge.

Also, there *is* a Might and Magic series subforum, which would be a more appropriate place to put this topic.
Fun games and fun times.

The problem is that the answer to "Do these games have replay value?" will vary based on what you look for in a replay.

The maps will be the same, the monsters will be the same (and spawn in the same places), the level of loot in each area will generally be the same (though the specifics will vary for loot that is 'random'), the quests and their solutions will be the same, the overpowered wells will be the same, and the spells in each class of magic will be the same. Once you know the in's and out's of the game, then there isn't a whole lot of new stuff to find.

That said, I've replayed all three of MM 6-8 a number of times, even with the same party. I think there is plenty of replay value simply because I enjoy the game play, even though there really isn't anything left that can surprise me on a given run. If you are focused on finding new things, then there won't be as much replay value (YMMV based on how thorough you are during a given run), but there is still a LOT of game to play even if you only play each one once.
Of course they are replayable and one thing that I always did was create a different party and let the games begin...
