I've released another Linux Wine wrapper, this time for Mirror's Edge (Mirror's Edge for Linux), and again I'm running a giveaway (including some games with official Linux support, to support official Linux releases).

As usual I'd also like to encourage anyone even a little bit interested in Linux to take a look at the beginner's guide I wrote & perhaps give Linux a try: The "Try Linux" Repost/Rewrite (a "beginner's guide")

Anyway, the prizes are:

> Mirror's Edge
> Transistor
> TRI: Of Friendship and Madness

To enter, simply post here listing what you're entering for in order of preference. Using Linux is not a requirement for entering the giveaway.

The giveaway will run until Thursday 20th April at 20:00 UTC. Due to problems with downrepping in previous giveaways, the winners will *not* be publicly revealed unless they decide to do so themselves.

Rules:
- No rep requirement but I reserve the right to disqualify entries at my discretion.
- Winners will be selected randomly after the giveaway ends
- Each winner will receive one prize - whichever of the remaining prizes is their most preferred.
- Please only enter for games that you don't already have.
- Please only enter for games that your system can run.
- Please only enter for games that you're interested in, intend to play & won't just let rot in a backlog.
- Keys are for your own use only/not to be traded (except for leftovers/duplicates from multi-game keys which may be re-gifted but not traded)
- Anything not redeemed within one week after being awarded may be given to another entrant or reused for a future giveaway.

Ah, and here I was doing so well with staying away from all these incredibly juicy giveaways you've been doing lately (this is - what? - your fourth in the last couple of weeks now?!) - and then you had to go list Transistor.

I absolutely adore Bastion, so just the mention of "From the creators of" was enough to get me interested, and the overall theme and features are very appealing.

As always, thanks for continuing to go far above and beyond in your efforts to promote Linux!

So yup, I guess I'm in for:
> Transistor

To anyone reading along who's on the fence about taking Linux for a spin - you're really spoiled for choice in the gaming department these days, and as an OS, most modern Linux distros are really good with just getting out of your way and letting you focus on getting things done; with you in control of your privacy, and of what the OS will be doing.
There's of course a learning curve, and always things to complain about - but then what's unusual is that there's also ways to fix those complaints - and the overall balance of the experience is just highly positive.
Wow! Another giveaway?! I'm in!

1. Transistor
2. Mirror's Edge

TIA
I would never touch linux in a non professional enviroment.
but I bare it no hatred

I am in for Mirror's Edge.
As always it's great to see one of your giveaways. I'd love to be in for Transistor, as I loved Bastion so much, but one look at my backlog tells me I need sit this one out :)
I'm in for Transistor. Thanks! I got Bastion on a humble bundle years ago, loved it, but never quite got round to buying Transistor. Specifically not in for Mirror's Edge, but only because I already own the game and really enjoyed playing it. Also not in for Tri, as I suspect it would just end up sitting in a backlog if I won it.

As for Linux...I've used it in the past, when I had serious issues with my then-primary PC's Vista installation. I was fairly happy with it, as I recall. For now, though, Windows 7 suits my needs perfectly well on my desktop, so I don't really need the added options that Linux offers. If and when Microsoft tries to force people to "upgrade" to W10 or discontinues support for 7, I imagine I'll switch over to Linux.

Thanks for the giveaway.

I do get occasional framerate drops for high performance games on my Linux, but a little bit of tweaking the settings solves that problem.

I will be in for Transistor.

Thanks for the giveaway.
As someone who was looking for a beginner's guide to Linux, this thread popped up at just the right time. Not in, but thanks for the generous giveaway and the guide!
I'm in for Mirrors Edge, thank you! I use Linux everywhere since around 2010 - at home, at work and on cellphones. With every year its more and more awesome. If I win, I will play Mirror's Edge in Linux, as I do all games. Its a pity people continue to endure and accept MS, regardless what it throws at them - hence I'd like to thank you once again for what you do, Adam.
Thank you for the giveaway. I'm in for:

Mirror's Edge
Transistor
Wow, you are generous. Another GA? And with great prizes too!
Well, I'll try my luck again and I would like to enter for:

Transistor
and
TRI: Of Friendship and Madness

Thank you very much!

Hello, Adamhm.
I think that CSMT is part of the mainstream Wine since yesterday, so you may want to update your post about Wine staging.

I still wish there was a printable version of your document.

I hope you don't mind me adding this in here, but I am also sad to hear your Polaris card is not working too well with the game. What kind of performance do you get from it? Does it give you trouble on other games too? I was thinking of buying one such card (possibly the 470). How happy are you with it?

Anyway, thank you for your Linux support, and for the giveaway.
If possible, I'm in for Mirror's Edge or Transistor.

Oh, one more thing, is there a central place where we can find your Wine wrappers?
I would like to enter for Transistor. cheers for your cause and thanks for the giveaway

Yes, that part of the guide now needs to be updated.

Framerates with the RX480 are worse than on the Nvidia card, but it's playable with reduced settings. In general I've found AMD GPUs to underperform on Linux (which is why I continued to use the 750 Ti in my main system even after getting the RX480), but AMD have been putting a lot more effort into their Linux drivers over the past year or so & they've seen (and are continuing to see) a huge amount of improvement. Although there's still a lot left to do, so performance is a bit mixed atm.

I just made this GOGmix: https://www.gog.com/mix/adamhms_linux_wine_wrappers
It's great to see that you're doing so much hard work, I appreciate it in a second-hand sympathizing way (since I don't use linux myself, but understand the users who do and their 'issues' with how they are treated in the game-world.)

I'll be in for Mirror's Edge!

thanks much for the opportunity!
