Mouse stops working in DosBox after a while and I need to Alt-Tab and Alt-Tab again to make it work. It is not really a problem of Dosbox only (however it is strange that in order to make it work again I need to Alt-Tab.) I had this thing for some time. Mouse stops responding for some time. I use Windows 7 64 bit.

I have performance in Windows to High (all devices al always on) and I unticked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for all USB Hubs. When the mouse stops responding the light from cursor is still on.

The mouse stopped responding totally a couple of months ago, but when I checked later it worked again. I think it was due to Logitech Joystick having problem with USB set to more than 250 (I unplugged it). I had my mouse set to 500 and now I set it to 1000hz and it actually works better, but still there are problems. So what do you think might be a problem? USB power or maybe some software? Just keep in mind that it started about August. The mouse worked fine before that for about 2.5 years.

Could be nearly anything; From hardware defect to issues with mouse software.

It might be a good idea to narrow it down by testing;

- Use another mouse for testing if available
- Use different USB ports
- If you've got a touch pad integrated, deactivate it while using a dedicated mouse (often according tools offer an option to automatically deactivate the touch pad when another mouse device is connected or simply deactivate it in the Windows Device Manager)
- Uninstall any mouse software other than drivers or even use Windows standard drivers

Do only one thing of the above and test it; Maybe you're able to find the culprit.
Thanks man. I actually did all things except the one with uninstalling dedicated drivers (however I upgraded them). I don't know if the changing DPI will work without them. I will try it though. Perhaps I got new ones in August and that's the problem.

I also got USB keyboard about week ago (before that it was PS/2) and when I played Starcraft 2 I had mouse lags... Still at least after changing mouse to 1000Hz it works better.
