I know we have here and there some topics regarding our summary on GOG, gaming etc, but I wanted to create something a bit different - from time to time I was creating the topics asking about help with especially troublesome things - that have bugged me for a long time and I couldn't find a proper solution for it. And it turned out that in some of those cases I have received a help, when I thought that I won't be able to solve the problem at all (or solve it in some functional manner).
So I wanted to mention here some users, that have helped me in 2023 with complicated and headache-inducing situations, for which I'm very grateful.
Noble helpers - I would like to thank you (in completely random order):
1.Kobi-K - thank you for providing me info about DDrawCompat, which turned out to be surprisingly efficient alternative for dgvoodoo, helping me in making work as intended games, that I could not make run properly - such as Eggsucker and Primitive Wars. And huge thanks for specifying using the version 0.3.1/0.3.2 - this was EXTREMELY important, as any later version 0.4. and 0.5.2) did not gave any results, by some reason.
2.Mori_Yuki - for providing me help and ready-to-use config file for the Strike Squad game (I had A LOT of issues to make it work properly under dosbox). All other information I've found on the internet about this game were very vague and usually not solving the whole problem (e.g. only blinking/invisible cursor).
3.SCPM - for saving me from the total disaster with my save game for Space Trader: Merchant Marine. I was at the very end and without help I wouldn't be able to complete the game. Anddespite being low rated, I enjoyed it and wanted to finish it.
4.Surfer1260 - for providing me extremely valuable help with tracing the -in-game-text for some games (sadly I had to postpone their translation for now, but I will certainly use the obtained knowledge), and HUGE thanks for directing me on the forum of compiware - I received here extremely helpful hints, and I would NEVER find this website on my own.
Of course those were honorable mentions for 2023 only, I didn't forgot about help provided to me in previous years as well (e.g help from Truhlik with VBA code for macro, help from olnorton for my Divine Divinity save game, help from InkPanther with finding the old form... and many, many others).
And big apologies, if I have received in 2023 help for other pain-inducing problem, but forgot to mention it here. I've done my best with searching tool and "my memory", but I could forgot something.
