Hello there!

I am new to this forum and wanted to let everyone who bought an old sierra WON compatible game about a project I am working on called NeuWON.

Most people know that WON shut down completely by 2007 and since then more than 20 games multiplayer options became useless.

The only way to play Multiplayer was through the slow and buggy Virtual private network (aka hamachi)...
I hated that idea and wanted something that was similar to the way multiplayer was supposed to be.

NeuWON is a project i started working on in late 2012. The goal of NeuWON was to get the old original WON half-life's chat room and authentication to work. Soon after i expanded the project to include ALL WON network supported games.

I eventually managed to get in contact with an old Sierra dev who kindly shared the complete WONAPI and the complete server source codes.

So NeuWON has become an (almost) exact replica of WON.Net.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope that I can encourage the GOG Developers to include/add the patch for connecting to NeuWON into the WON.Net compatible games they are selling.

That's bloody neat. Hope this brings more people to use it to play Empire Eath multiplayer or other games.

So I can play this...Counterstrike game everyone keeps going on about, right?

*scratches head* so... when I need help in SQ6 I can call upon Graham & Larry to log in and get Rogers back?
