It works for me.

It looks like your connection is being interrupted and it's not loading all the resources correctly (usually CSS causes that kind of problem)

Works fine on my end. You might have found another one of the bugs GOG celebrates their anniversary with.

Yep, that`s exactly my opinion too. But now it seems to work again.

Too bad. For a moment there you had me hoping that the German forum had vanished and that the region locking that came with it would vanish too. ;-)

Sweet dreams are made of this! :-D
A bit harsh on those whose knowledge of other languages is weak.

I can see the point of wishing for the whole German localisation to go away but that would make interacting with GOG harder für die Leute das nicht so good English know. Clearer now?

There are still people in Germany who don't read and write English? I am shocked! ;-)

Joking aside, basic knowledge of English is very wide spread in Germany. Our schools do a good job at least in that respect. Also English is THE language of the internet and is quite related to German. So it's easy to learn for us. I know lots of people who live here in Germany since a few years and who never learned German because they never needed to. So the number of people who actually cannot communicate in English but are old enough to buy games here is quite small.

Well, to be honest: What you learn here in school has nothing to do with real english. What we learn in school is some kind of a fantasy upper class english. But it gives you the basics, so you can learn real english from other sources, like pop songs or hip hop songs. Thanks to N.W.A. I know all the curse words I will ever need! :-D
In an ironic twist of fate the German forum has been annexed by the polish one...

Sorry, someone had to.

Welp, they sound like they are a bunch of entitled people. There is a saying: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". So not bothering to learn the language of the country you are living in for years is pretty disrespectful. But hey, most kids these days don't know anything about basic decency anyway.

* Moded. Please refrain from using swear words, especially towards others.

/edit: It's not a swear word if used in an appropriate manner. Regarding "dick": "It is also used as a pejorative term for individuals who are considered to be rude, abrasive, inconsiderate, or otherwise contemptible."

Talk about mods abusing their powers...

Or computer games. I learned most of my English from Ultima ... which was kind of weird initially since I was talking in some kind of faux-Shakespearean English. :-)
