Is online only games now becoming a thing on gog?

We have the Gwent game being online only, hopefully only short term. But I noticed that Blitzkrieg 3 is in the upcoming list on gog. However, this is an online only game, even for the Single Player portions of the games.

The developers have no intention on including and offline mode (http://steamcommunity.com/app/235380/discussions/0/492378806377656087/#c1319962599253817803)

I hope this is not becoming a new trend for gog. I still prefer to buy my games here first but if online only games start to come out here more and more, I will be very disappointed.

Its not a thing yet. Gwent is still considered to be DRM free as you don't pay for it, and at some point in the future they may release an offline version, least thats the excuses going round. Anyways, those of us who care about these types of things are in the minority, apparently, so I have been told, all but a few people are happy to use clients, be online all the time, and use cloud functionality - though why those people don't want to use Steam with the bigger catalog and cheaper prices and all this already is beyond me.
I'm a bit concerned about this possibility, but will withhold judgment until details are finalized at release.
I would still consider Gwent as an outlier.

But the opening move towards always online games was already made earlier this year, with the release of Gremlins Inc . Imho, GOG is simply playing realpolitik there and living with the market as it is. I did not say I'm pleased by that, and I'm not going to buy games with such a feature, but that does not change my preference for GOG either
Blitzkrieg 3 has been removed from the upcoming list so I guess its not coming to gog anymore.
I asked the developers about the steam forum. I am waiting for their answers.

You mean the game GOG denied until there was an offline mode provided by Gremlins vs Automatons? Like it or not GOG did deny this game until some form of offline was available so that makes it clear that they won't accept online only unless some form of offline mode exist.

Most Voted (this week) and the 3rd Most Voted (ever) wish on the Site Features section :

Continue to be a DRM-free store, today, tomorrow, and forever!
EDIT: hope GOG will have the devs make an offline mode as well.

Yes but this wish isn't a good indicator of anything... I voted for this wish but my view of DRM-Free is vastly different than nightcraw1er.488. So it's a good indicator people want GOG to remain DRM Free, it's not exactly a good indicator of what that means.

GOG's view of DRM-free (from the home page) :

DRM-Free Content
You buy it - it's yours

DRM-free means no copy protection, on-line checks, or any other annoyances. It' all about just you and your games and movies. You should feel you own the products that you buy - just like a book, or a DVD.

On GOG.com, no matter if you are online or offline, you will never be locked away from your purchases.

Again it's subjective... there are a butch of different ways that can be interpreted and will be until GOG actually clearly lays out how they view DRM. Anyway I was not specifically talking about a game being online only on GOG, GOG has already denied games that are online only so they must consider it DRM, that or it goes against their policies. I was talking about in general that wish isn't a good indicator of anything other than the fact people want GOG to stay DRM Free.

Anyway... this game won't be on GOG. Kind of shitty of them to drag GOG on like that and I'm wondering if they never made it clear their game was online only. I assume contracts were signed before GOG announced it here?
sorry blitzkrieg 3 cancelled in gog.

Looks like it. It even disappeared from the upcoming list and game catalog. Its listing was still there earlier this morning when I checked.

Well, you can edit your post now, as GOG has cancelled the sale of Blitzkrieg 3, likely due to the online-only DRM factor.

It's a shame the creators didn't make this an offline single-player game like the way they did for Blitzkrieg 2, which I purchased here. And, I was pretty impressed by the new and upcoming Blitzkrieg 3, where I hoped it would be more of the same or better.
