What's even the point in punishing if what was done was completely harmless? This topic was not going anywhere. This place is so miserable. Punish, lock, delete!

GOG forum mods have become extra crazy last few days, I got a 2 day ban simply for dropping the f-bomb in a post.

Didn't know they had any until a few days ago.

Any word on when something will be done about your shit rep system?

We are sticking to the topic.....which is the downrating.

1. No it is not. I get downrated all the time for talking about GAMES or other media in the apporpriate threads. Some morons will follow me around each day and downrate because they know it bothers me(the act not the point loss) and they do it to push my buttons as much as possible.

I follow the rules 9%%+ of the time, and am as polite as I can be for the most part(except with actual trolls), and I still get low rated for posting ontopic content that irks someone because they dislike my opinions or me personally for some reason. And I am not the only one it happens to.

1.b. And why should one not comment on "controversial" topics? Who made a few forum users arbiters of what is acceptable on gog as they think they are, and why should they be allowed to harass some by low rating them and following them around/derailing their threads?

2. They are for the most part but I wouldn't say that suggesting one should shut up and hide one's views/not talk on certain allowed topics to appease a few self-appointed "forum managers" is a good suggestion.

Rather, maybe those said people should leave and find a place more to their liking.

Because it's usually the same dozen or so people here who derail ANY thread they find unlikable or against their code of what is acceptable and they turn such threads they dislike into cesspits of controversy to shut them down/drive people away or get them locked?

Also locking threads solves nothing in that regard.

Really? Yet bigtime offenders here get away with much more and have been banned many times yet they are allowed to come back. Also many of those that derail threads(to cause people to stop posting) are also still unbanned(even temp bans).

When I said there were exceptions to what I said I was thinking of you specifically actually cause I think you are often downvoted unfairly. I just don’t like singling people out when I make comments. And so far as controversial topics, most of them are obvious, and already disallowed under the forum no politics rule. But I never said that they shouldn’t be discussed, just that if you’re that worried about being downvoted that not commenting on them is the best course of action cause people from the opposing view will downvoted you no matter what side you’re in. I made no judgement on whether or not it was a good thing, I was giving advice for not getting downvoted... which I should’ve known would get me downvoted.

If you wanted to "single me out" in a good way or to prove a point that's fair, imo.

How does it apply to current events posts and other such things?

And no, I don't think "social politics" and stuff which has sides(like some hot button issues in some countries) are banned here, as if they were more of my threads would've been warned/locked by staff by now...as well as similar ones by other users.

If they dislike someone(as some do me) they will downrate you whether you post such or not. I've had posts in several recent threads telling people what games I liked that fit the thread topics get low rated for no reason other than someone dislikes me or my views and holds a grudge.

I also upvoted you, btw....as you made sense. Sadly, the alts are in force today.

People are likely getting sick of threads constantly getting locked for "going offtopic".

Yeah alt accounts that have been here over 10 years and have more then 200 games should do it!
