Themken: Well, the game starts just fine unmodded after installing it OUTSIDE the program files folder and tweaking things using the game's config.exe in the game's folder. I just replaced "Program Files (x86)" with my newly created folder "POTC". Then limited frames/s to max 60fps.

Titanium: Oh yeah, don't ever install games under Program Files folder. It's super restrictive like that. I thought everyone knew that.
Remember that new humans are born all the time and they must one day learn it too.

I've asked this one a lot too because like you I was a huge fan of the Sea Dogs PoTC reskin.

Like Themken said, the answer seems to be Sea Dogs: City of Abandoned Ships, which you can grab here as of fairly recently!

I haven't picked it up yet, but I'm going to sooner rather than later, but when I asked about it the game seems like it keeps the questing, loot, skills and even on land exploration of PoTC.

It's funny how you asked your question, because I think I asked for pretty much the same set of things when both the "newer" Sea Dogs games released here LOL. Just an FYI, I found the second newer game (Caribbean Tales I think?) to be a bit "lifeless" but apparently City of Abandoned Ships is where it's at.

How about Sea Dogs: to each his own. It's a new take on the franchise done by a different team.

Right now, they are desperately trying to officially update the engine to DX9 (yes, you read that right.)
Ok ive tried 'To each his own' (Fortunately at a discount) and so far I have been having a very hard time with it. (Put in over 14 hours)

To me the game is a hardcore version of POTC. (Wind, combat, realism etc)

Is 'City of Abandoned Ships' & 'Caribbean Tales' closer to TEHO or POTC?

Im trying so hard to like this game, I really want to. I can see theres lots of content.
