jeditobe: Please add support of Windows XP\2003 (and so ReactOS too) into GOG Galaxy.

GOG = Good old Games. Why not support old good OSes then?
GOG originally was an acronym for Good Old Games years ago when that was their core focus. When they revamped the site several years ago they changed that and dropped the "Good Old Games" acronym and the name GOG now is just a word with no acronym officially. This reflects the fact that while the site still contains a great many good old games and they continue to add more regularly - it has expanded in scope way beyond just classic titles. Even if it did still mean "Good Old Games", it's just a name anyway and not any form of indication of supporting anything in particular.

If you want Windows XP officially supported, you can vote for it on the Galaxy wishlist at http://www.gog.com/wishlist of course, which is your best way to have your opinion counted. You can vote for the other operating systems you mentioned too or add them to the wishlist if they aren't there already but I honestly wouldn't hold my breath to ever see ReactOS or Windows 2003 supported by anything here ever. :)
Seriously?

It's not 2005 anymore.

In June-July, Windows 10 will be out, making XP the 5th latest OS Microsoft has released. More and more games are only shipping with DX11 compatibility. It's time to upgrade to at least Windows 7 if you're using XP.
Windows Xp... that is pretty funny. Time to move into the modern world of computers I think.
Windows 98SE FTW!!!!111!!1! :)

More importantly, even if it still were "Good Old Games", the focus was always revitalizing timeless classics and making them fit to be run on modern systems.

XP is no modern OS and hasn't been for a long time. It's obsolete and rapidly turning into one of the old platforms that games had to be "rescued" from going by GOG's old mission statement...

Goddammit, yes! They need to add support for Windows for Workgroups 3.11, too, 'cause that's what I'm using! And why does the site look so weird in Netscape Navigator?
To me this feels like one of those options that's nice to have but would ultimately be seen as excess. As already mentioned, XP isn't supported by Microsoft anymore. It's a dead OS, and making software specifically to work with it feels like a waste of time and resources. Not being supported means it's also an unsafe OS ripe for potential malicious hacking.

I can see the reasons for some people still wanting to latch on to it. There are some PC games that don't behave properly on OSes later than XP. It's a shame that we have to use older OSes to play them right, especially the odd Japanese-developed game that will likely never show up on GOG. But does that mean it's worth it to port Galaxy back down to XP?

I feel there's plenty of other things that GOG could be working on that would be more helpful in a general sense. Particularly now since the account system upgrade seems to have taken away some functionality.

Not to mention that JavaScript thing they insist on using, how can anyone stand that? I mean, script tags were only invented last year, they can't expect many people to be able to figure those out.

Maybe its crap, but for dx12 i can sacrifice myself, and install it right after its will be available.
Just think - Witcher 3 with dx12 support - magic. :)

Keeping it on topic, I think people using XP are wishing more for DirectX 6 support. :)
At first, people clinging to XP was adorable, but even my dad got with the times and bought himself new computers.

Where is support for Electronika 60 or the Eagle PC II?
