After the Forspoken thread didn't go over well, I was gonna make a thread suggesting people contact Crystal D about bringing the missing Tomb Raider games (especially Rise and Shadow) to GOG. But would that be pretty pointless as Embracer leased the TR rights to Amazon back in Feb. and Amazon will be publishing the next TR game? Crystal D is still the publisher of the current games on Steam.

https://insider-gaming.com/tomb-raider-franchise-rights-allegedly-bought-by-amazon-for-600-million/

Of course it's possible that even if the Amazon deal didn't happen, Embracer and/or C D wouldn't want to bother with GOG for these games.

If anyone still wants to try, Crystal Dynamics has a contact form link on the bottom-right of their home page. All that's needed is an email address and of course message body. (There's some weird seemingly-uncompleted code, but for me at least, the message still went through.) It's easy enough to send a quick message.

Doubt they'd reply to gog if they tried, definitely not replying to an end user.

tfishell: Pointless (or not) to contact Crystal Dynamics after Amazon was leased the rights to Tomb Raider?
First of all: "was leased the rights" is not "has bought the rights". Leasing is temporary.

Second of all: we already have "Tomb Raider" (2013) here on GOG.
Why not simply wait until "Rise of the Tomb Raider" (2015) and "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" (2018) will follow?
Patience is a virtue.

And if they don't follow? Well, as with every other game that doesn't get released here - there's nothing anybody here can do about that.

Apart from all the above, and to directly answer your question:
Pretty pointless, since Embracer Group owns the rights to the TR games (since May 2022) - not Crystal Dynamics.

Edit:
and just to be clear: "Tomb Raider" (2013) got released here in August 2021...so before the rights changed to Embracer Group.

Well that's the point. Square Enix released Tomb Raider" (2013) here. We don't know how Embracer will handle this IP, so it's worth showing interest.

But it's pointless to show your interest to Square Enix...because Embracer Group owns the rights nowadays.

Well obviously I meant showing interest to Embracer, not Square Enix.

... to embracer.
Embracer is a holding company, it does not publish games. The games' current publisher is, indeed, Crystal Dynamics.

As for Amazon, the only official fact is that they will be publishing the next game in the series. Anything else is nothing more than unconfirmed rumors/reports. Even if the rumors are true, leasing/licensing the franchise to Amazon will not necessarily prevent Crystal Dynamics from bringing their already-released stuff here. All-in-all, it hinges on how much of a damn Crystal Dynamics gives about GOG.

It will be really damn sad if Square Enix ends up having cared more than Crystal Dynamics themselves.
I dont think it would hurt to contact them but not sure. I think it would strongly depend on GOG sales and if they are doing something with the Tomb Raider IP and want to promote it.
Am kinda surprised Square Enix didn't rush out Rise and Shadow onto GOG for the quick money grab before the rights were sold.

Amazon Prime has done work were they have given out GOG code keys so they are aware of GOG.

Consider politely requesting GOG releases of Rise and Shadow, if you're on Twitter.
