tinyE: Warp drive, teleportation, is plausible, we just lack the energy capable of pulling it off.
Light speed? NO. Never.
I am not a big Trek guy but everything from the show and the movies is based around known scientific principle, not to mention the small aesthetic things like more realistic looking ships.
The X-Wing. Seriously? Why do you needs wings in space? :P
And on a side note, I can't type for shit tonight. XD
Lucius_Malfoy: Yo I'm a big Trekkie, but I have to say when it comes to storytelling SW takes the cake.
You say that because SW is yet another retelling of classical mythology, as is Harry Potter, which you being s a fan (as am I) should recognize.
Harry = Luke
Dumbledore = Obi-Wan
Voldermort = Vader
Young naive youth, seemingly unimportant and heading for nothing but dreaming of one day breaking out of his boring squalor existence, is suddenly brought onto a mentor (an old and wise mentor) who teaches him that, not only is he is very special, but he is the catalyst of a great conflict, which will lead him to do battle with an ultimate "evil" who he will come to find out he is much closer to than perhaps even any ally or friend he ever had.
Throw in a few sidekicks, (Han, Ron) and some comic relief (C3P0, Hagrid) and you got a story.
