Is this feature possible? It would be nice to have when replaying games.

If you contact GOG support, they will help you out, at this time there's no way to do it from the user-side.

Have you tried asking the GOG Support yourself? If yes, did they actually do it for you?

As I recall, I only asked them to reset 1 achievement for 1 game when reporting a bug, and they did. I never asked for time played or all achievements to be reset for a title, but I believe they are able to do so.

Oh I see. Okay, thanks a lot for the answer. :)
No problem!
Coming from the future here 2021, no they don't/won't. And they give you a really rude answer too while they're at it.

For real? I contacted them a few years back, after I played Cuphead for 10 or so minutes and Galaxy -for some incomprehensible reason - showed my play time as 70+ hours. They helped me out with that one. But then again, that was a few years back...

Aw man now it feels even worse. Maybe I got a bad customer service representative? As there a way to request a different rep to look at my request?

EDIT: Looked at the e-mail again, they even told me it was "impossible" and "unlikely" to do such a thing.

Unfortunately, it's not unheard of that gog support cuts down on services that were considered perfectly common in the past. One example: User reviews. You may have noticed that reviews don't feature an "edit" button? In the past, support was perfectly willing to edit your reviews upon request, the last time I sent in such a request the answer was "No can do" and they can only offer to delete the review altogether and you write a new one.

As for manually interfering with Galaxy stats (playtime/achievements): It should be very much possible and it was done for me in the past. I get that it may be impossible for support to deal with thousands of requests to manually mess with people's Galaxy stats, but it *is* possible in a purely technical sense.

Yeah - I'd say that it's technically possible, but as you point out, they have cut down on things they have done in the past. From a business perspective, support not fulfilling these requests makes perfect sense - it takes support representatives away from activities that they really should be doing, like making games work or helping process and validate legitimate refund requests.

You could argue that they should employ more support staff, but from my experience working in Finance, no manager is going to sign off a recruitment requisition for this.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice for them to fulfil the request, and in an ideal world, support would fix everything It's just that it's unlikely to happen and GoG is a business.

I can confirm that. They don't. I ask for resetting achievements from a game I unlocked accidentaly after opening a save from the same game on my Steam, and they answered with:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

Sadly I am afraid that we do not offer a service of resetting achievements.

Sorry for disappointing you this way. If there is anything else I can help with, let me know.
This feature was required, and ignored for 8 years. It is unlikely that such feature will be implemented in the forseeable future.

Perhaps the simplest and best solution would be to ignore achievements as the proverbial carrot on a stick, and simply play the game for the entertainment value it offers.
