Looking at purchasing this game, however I think i bought it on steam but the game would not run at all on my system (had to mess about but in the end all i got was steam failed to launch game) after doing patch over patch and fix over fix.

I heard that the GoG version is differant as in its been patched and fixed, but i am a little dubious, i do not want to buy a game and find it does not work.
I am running windows 7 64bit with latest nvidia drivers and a recon3d pro soundblaster soundcard. 16gb mem and a 4gb graphics card.
Got it on this sale as well.

My system is with WIN10 64bit, an AMD RX460 with latest drivers and 8 GB DDR3.

Haven't faced any problems so far, nor I needed to tweak anything.

The GOG version already includes the Basic version of the Unofficial patch, that fixes many issues.

Hope that helps.

Aye, so it should work right from the go after install. Thats good for me.
I will give it a go then.

Thanks for the reply and answer

Well, the vanilla game with only the official patch (which is what is sold on Steam, I believe) doesn't work for me either, I think it reports a crash over some memory issue on launch. At least more recent versions of the Unofficial Patch, which - I've been told - is included with the GOG release, should take care of any such issues, however. I'm a bit curious what patches you tried on the Steam version since just applying the latest Unofficial Patch should have fixed things.
Yes memory 15mb issue. patched this issue was replaced with another find fix and another issue find fix and another but could not finbd a fix for that one (steam related) so i refunded with 5 minutes left of the 2hrs allowed. I could not try any more as i had nigh on run out of time (and patience).

Happily this loaded right in so YAY, i just done the tutorial. saved my game. I have both Redemption and Bloodlines now (i did play 1 of them and completed it years ago, think it was the first one made). Would love to see a decent vampire game come out (hoping that this new Vampye one is decent) and has what you would expect, especially since games are more freely done thesedays.

Are you aware that GOG has a refund policy? If the game doesn't work and you contact Support within 30 days of purchase, and you and they work together to try to fix it (over a few emails) but nothing works, you get a refund. (Granted it's not as simple as Steam's, but GOG's focus is on getting your games to run.)

But in this specific case, GOG included a fan patch for VTMB that's pretty solid apparently, so I wouldn't worry.
No, i was not aware that GoG had that, i thought only steam had that and its a little crap 2hrs or 7 days of purchase. 2hrs is the killer, you have to make a rather hasty snap decision and there are some i really wish i had refunded, but went over 2hrs and they refused.

Anyways did not know GoG had a 30 days refund policy from date of purchase.

Yeah VtMB actually works and plays with so far no issues so i am happy with my purchase. Runs how a game should run, right from the install.... steam needs to take notes
