What advantages and/or disadvantages does this version of Myst have over the others (original, Masterpiece, realMyst)? Is it worth getting over those versions?

The original Myst only let you navigate stationary screens, with you clicking on stuff and zapping around.
Myst: Masterpiece Edition remastered this game, with 24-bit color graphics, 16-bit sound, new sound effects, and a built-in hint system.

RealMyst made it so that the entire world was now 3D rather than stationary, you move the mouse to look around and use WSAD to move.

RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition the best one, in my opinion. It both has the world remastered and in 3D.

Also, the RealMyst games include an extra age, Rime, which when beaten, gives you a small glimpse of the next game, Riven.
Honestly, I see no real reason to play the original or the Masterpiece edition outside of nostalgia or wanting to play it like it was when it first came out. You could get RealMyst, but in that case, I say the best way to go is RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition so you get the extra stuff as well.

zeogold: I say the best way to go is RealMyst if you want to play on GOG, otherwise, get RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition.
You're suggesting to not get the Real Myst Masterpiece Edition from GOG? If you are suggesting that rather than just having missed that it is here, may I ask why?

Highly appreciate the response. Was on the fence about which version. After both this and further research across the internet, I decided on getting realMyst: Masterpiece Edition while it's still on a Steam sale. Apart from the points you raised about the graphics and the extra age, I also read that realMyst: Masterpiece Edition offers the point-and-click controls that the original games used, which is what I'm used to. Again, thanks for the help.
