Thanks. How about K70? It's the same price. I'm leaning towards it now (cherry red, though it also comes with brown). No macro keys, but you can assign macros to any key, so in the few rare cases that I use them, I could assign them to the numerical keypad.

The K95 seems to have everything I want, but it's almost twice as expensive and the only advantage it has are the separate macro keys and RGB backlight. Seeing how I can use the numeric keypad for macros, and I don't care much about backlight, I don't think I want to spend the extra 90$ for it.

I never checked this one, but the full 'wrists bar' is a plus, it seems quite "brighted" (which is great in my shadow lurker's opinion) but the big difference with the K60 is that it doesn't have the heavy thick cold alluminium layer (yes, I can harm intruders with my keyboard) which is mainly a sturdiness/design preference.

Point is, check if the inscriptions on the keys can get erased : some K60s had this issue (mines are not perfect for the record) but I believe a replacement was available for the disatisfied.
Also regarding the clickiness, check if the keyboard is O-ring compatible (the K60 is I think), I read it can alleviate this issue a lot .

edit2 : silly me, the keys are tranluscent it seems, with the leds behind, it can't get erased like the K60.

Just to clarify, there's two kinds of noise here. One is the deliberate clicks that certain switches make for audio feedback, the other is the clacking of keys when you bottom them out.

The former is avoided simply by not choosing clicky switches. The latter, ideally, by not pressing the keys further than the point of feedback (audible or tactile). Doable when typing, not so much while gaming. O-rings help to dampen this sound but I find that they also give it a rubbery feel, somewhat more similar to a regular keyboard.

Ugh… I hate the chiclet keyboards too. Mine is a film keyboard with spring devices. I can't stand what most modern keyboards are about. In fact my wife and I can't find a laptop with a keyboard we like. My desktop keyboard is pretty good, at least for me as it has minimal ghosting and good response.

I'm using the Quickfire TK reds right now and it's solid. But when I bought it it was in the $78 range. I only see them for over $100+ (arund $120) these days. The one I want is the Apex m800 from Steelseries but I'm not paying $200 for it. :P

Well, I don't know about the keyboards, but I did replace my Razer mouse with a steelseries Rival one, and am very pleased with it, for the price it is very well made, comfortable, and responds super smooth.

Same here. I had an IBM one for a while, although the loud clicky sound was cute for a while, it quickly became an utter annoyance... Didn't help the keyboard loved tooo givve mmultiiplee cchharrractterss... Requiring many backspaces trying to type and slowing down your overall typing speed to lower double digits.

As for a keyboard to recommend. I'd suggest decide what kind of connector you need (AT, PS2, USB, etc) and just buy a used one, two or three second hand. If they keyboard works after a few tests, use it, if it doesn't or doesn't satisfy you, keep it anyways as a backup just in case your keyboard fails (or you need an extra one)
