Eliza is now available DRM-free.

After abandoning her high-powered tech career and a mysterious three-year absence, Evelyn Ishino-Aubrey resurfaces working as a proxy for a virtual counseling app called Eliza. Her job consists solely of reading a script provided to her in real-time by an AI, leaving her no autonomy over what she says. Is Eliza a technological marvel that brings therapy to those who otherwise couldn’t access it? Or is it an ineffective replacement and another vector for technology companies to gain control over our lives and humanity?

Reminds me of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA

Edit: QED..."On August 12, 2019, independent game developer Zachtronics published a visual novel called Eliza, about an AI-based counseling service inspired by ELIZA." :)

Edit 2: GOG's forum gets weirder and weirder...this thread is not visible in the forum, even after "popping" it into it...

Edit 3: it's visible...yeah. :)

Yay, not your typical save-the-world game! (watch trailer - seems a bit distressful)
This game is by Matthew Burns, the dude who wrote the incredibly awesome and underappreciated script for Opus Magnum. He's got a cat, too. You must buy it (the game. The cat is not for sale.)

Well, it's not a coincidence, it's direct homage to that 1965 pseudo-counseling app.

Oh, it's not by Zach? Burns works for Zach, or what?

And where is his awesome script? You've got me curious. I haven't played Opus Magnum yet, but I intend to.
I know Eliza, she's the best:

An answer for everything!
This is not a puzzle game of high difficulty that looks like a simulator of a day job at a tech company?
The most important information - it's made by Zachtronics! People who created Spacechem and Opus Magnum cannot be wrong!
High priority wishlist entry. (Wallet died on vacation...)
Yay, it's here! Thanks Zachtronics and GOG. Had my fingers crossed to see Eliza release here, but didn't have high hopes... so this is great news. :D

No. Burns is a writer/composer for Zachtronics and wrote the scripts for Opus Magnum, Shenzhen I/O and Exapunks, as well as music for all the above and Infinifactory.

In the game, duh.
Shenzhen I/O is also great and full of actually funny tech jokes. But Opus Magnum is an outstanding achievement because writing intelligent characters is hard, and Burns pulled it off there. (It's also the easiest of Zachtronics games -- well, second to Eliza now, I assume -- because you can always write a solution. Zach had posted that like 95% of people got stuck in SpaceChem and never saw the ending. Opus Magnum is not sticky.)

You mean "Yes. Burns works for Zach at Zachtronics"

I see. I thought you meant "script" like he was some user who wrote a scripted mod add-on; now I see you meant that the game has a bunch of text/voices for which, as an employee, he wrote the verbal script.

But thanks for being kind and gracious in correcting my misunderstanding.
im intrigued, but not if the whole game is listening to nonstop whining and dealing with their problems, hope there is some sort of nefarious back story to eliza
Semes to be an interesting one. Not sure if it's worth full price for my personal tastes but definitely wishlisted for now
Finished it, is good. Play it.
