Release, or early access?

It cannot be both. Clean up your act, GOG. It's getting really, really sad.

Store at the evil place clearly states it's early access. So this is not "release". Stop pretending that these are "release". Stop labeling them as "release".

It's pretty easy: the game has been released into early access.

;)

Too bad it's not like that, anyone. So many games, I would hear, will be released only to be in Early Access. Even YouTubers promote early access as games that are released. It's getting old.

Whatever happened to Industry Giant 3?

Grargar: Whatever happened to Industry Giant 3?
It met the same fate as Windows 9.

Interesting, I'll keep an eye on it.

However, sorry to put this here, but it would be nice if Toplitz could do something to fix an important bug in Transport Giant.

Another vote for going back to labeling In Dev releases as such in the news post. (No, people, a shitty thing becoming common or widely accepted doesn't make it no longer shitty...much like DRM, eh?)

Since it is IG 4.0 I'd assume a play with the term Industry 4.0.
Hopefully, the game has a side quest teaching no resource is limitless.
At Earth, Solar System, Galaxy, even Universe level. You should give what you take, in one form or another.
E=mc2 plus conservation of energy/mass.
To err is human, to recurse - divine. (and let's keep it like that)

It's no surprise you're once again being daft. It's not a release.

They do still properly label them for some (even most?) titles. (Examples: https://www.gog.com/en/game/priest_simulator_vampire_show and https://www.gog.com/news/early_access_duck_paradox and https://www.gog.com/news/early_access_monomyth)

This thread is just another in the pile of GOG's constant stream of little mess-ups and seemingly just not caring about anything.

What a drama, it is terrible. Also pretty nitpicky from your part.

Anyways the store page informs that the game is Early Access
Looks good, though those system requirements mean it's definitely waiting on a GPU upgrade before it's for me. Still, for when that time comes: any words on the possibility of a Linux release at some point down the road?

I don't wanna destroy your picture of the world, but publishers even saw it differently decades ago, long before Steam's invention of Early Access (InDev aka In Development) emerged. This what you call Release was always the Gold version/master for them. Release is only a process for them. Be it the release of an alpha, beta, gold or early access version of a game. The same goes for the release of the different kind of patches. They release like other people do with whatever kind of animal. Even Alpha versions are being released (and I don't mean those heavily bugged gold versions). To the very few people, who got the right granted to play-test it under NDA conditions.

Looks interesting. And I like the old "Giant" games. But the hardware requirements are insane for a strategy game. I'll wait for the real release anyway, and without a Linux version also for a high discount.
