I thought the classic strategy release for this week would be rather Dune 2...

I mean it certainly evokes the look of...Warcraft (the original) but I'm not sure if that's a good thing these days. There's been a lot of progress in the Real Time Strategy genre since then.

First impression is a little muted but it could turn out to be far more fun than the initial video implies.

Yeah, my first thought was. Ah, Blizzard renamed Warcraft and put it on GoG. :-D

Thought this was initially rejected? Or maybe thedev never tried for it here. Either way, seems to be the definitive version so will definitely be picking this up.

This looks really nice, really love the look of this game that tries to be "neo-retro" from an era of strategy games that began with Warcraft 2 but already ended with Starcraft 1. The game having modern effects that blend well with its artstyle is also a nice touch.

It kinda reminds me of Warcraft 1s dungeons in terms of some of the screenshots + Warcraft 2s artstyle + Warcraft 3 vibrant colours but the gameplay has some Total Annihilation: Kingdoms vibes going on as well. I'm actually very intruiged to buy this.

IMO A little more Warlords Battlecry than Warcraft. Maybe a hybrid of both. :D

Nice thing that there is a demo version - I can check game (before buying) like in good old 90' (or beginning of 2000').

Hmm, RTS without multiplayer is almost a failed game by default. Any intention of bringing multiplayer in?

Calling it a homage seems a little off in my books. It looks like they almost literally recycled assets from Warcraft. When the game looks like someone used the warcraft map editor, calling it an homage seems generous.

Is the game similar to Warcraft 2? Will it have Direct IP multiplayer in the future?

Looks like a warcraft 2 clone in the warcraft 3 engine, not sure why this made it past gogs quality control but perhaps I will stand corrected.
