I've tried to write review for many titles for years but not one has ever appeared on GoG. Something is broken somewhere, I always make them balanced.

Anyway moving on, it says the other cases are available but I have not got a notification on my GoG library saying there is an update. Perhaps it is not yet here for those who download direct as I.

Anyway did a few more cases in this game and am thoroughly enjoying it.
Just the notepad is a real pain, you really should be able to move up and down without having to delete text.

Anyway a minor niggly, I just use pen and paper :)

Looking forward to more cases, this game is fantastic.

Oh a quick note, I expected a little more from the deluxe edition book, at least some text with some history or anything. Still it was a nice edition. :)

I fail to see how that's relevant to my point in any way, but e.g. neither Steam nor Amazon allow rating a product without publishing a written review at the same time.

Anonymous ratings are not only useless, they're harmful. I have no idea why apparently 24 people think this game is so-so. Might be they don't like 8-bit graphics. Might be they don't think new independent games belong on GOG. Might be a few genuine ones and a few sock puppets of the main developer's ex-wife, or a studio working on a competing title. The rating on its own doesn't tell you anything, but it does affect how the game is sorted and effect a psychological impulse on potential buyers.

It's relevant because you specifically mentioned anonymous ratings, rather than anonymous reviews.

And I know that Amazon allows you to give a star rating without review (or even purchase), because I just went through and did it with a bunch of recommended/already owned/purchased items a few weeks ago. I don't have a Steam account, but even if it does have some weird requirement that forces a user to post a review in order to leave a rating, do you really think that is going to improve the quality or reliability of reviews? You know all those one-line reviews that just say "I liked it, good game 11/10" or whatever? That's what a review-required-in-order-to-rate system leads to (and a minimum character requirement for the review only means that they'll fill it with garbage to reach the minimum). Those are not useful in any way.
There is no way to force people to write useful customer reviews.

I hope that GOG at some point implements a "verified owner" badge for reviews made by users who have the game in their GOG library. But requiring a review in order to rate is a very bad idea, as is not allowing reviews and/or ratings from people that don't own the game here.

It isn't because if other stores do or don't doesn't change whether it makes sense.

Those don't count into the overall rating.

It enables you to see why people gave a rating. I agree that one-liner "great game 11/10" reviews are equally useless, but they do have the benefit of exposing the rater so I can check up on them.
