A New Cyberpunk Adventure

Read Only Memories a neo cyberpunk point and click adventure, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount.

In the year 2064 fully-autonomous, sapient machine assistants are as commonplace as the smartphone presently pressed against your pocket. You're a journalist with something of a techophobic tendency, but that can't last long in a modern world - can it? Inspired by Hideo Kojima's Snatcher, Read Only Memories is a point and click adventure across anime pixel-art straight from the 80's, and a wonderful soundtrack that sets a memorable tone in the cyberpunk cityscapes of a Neo San Francisco. A dark side of technology lurks beneath dynamic storytelling, award-winning voice actors and a vibrant set of characters. Can you survive?

You can also pick up the Deluxe Edition upgrade for a fantastic, concept-art filled Artbook, as well as an MP3 + FLAC soundtrack.

Read Only Memories is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, October 13, 9:59 AM GMT.
not to sound too grumpy, but I am beginning to hate all these fake retro games with crappy graphics. Will wait till I see a stream on it to final judge

update:

been watching the twitch stream of this and its boring as heck, the soundtrack however is excellent. might be worth getting on sale for that alone.

How is this point and click?
It looks way more like snatcher

Gearmos: ...
No AAA games allowed here, sorry. ;)
Whoa, I did think it was an old game at first. Anyway, seems interesting enough, so wishlisted!
cool. looks like it could be awesome. will likely pick it up on sale unfortunately. too many games currently on backlog.
I would consider getting this if not for the graphics style. I have a 40 inch screen. This will look shit.
Still, it looks like a very interesting game. I hope it sells well.
Looks cool. I like the visual style for sure.

my thoughts exactly. might actually be MORE pixelated than Snatcher, which is trying too hard...

and just in case anyone asks

Breja: Really?
>Looks at the title card< >Looks at the game description< >Looks at the title card again<
Really?
Neo-sf. Neo San Francisco.
I just...
I should stop even opening the threads for those japanese things. It's always a migrane just waiting to happen.

JudasIscariot: SF is also the two letter abbreviation for San Francisco :) Also, "Neo-San Francisco" is the first thing mentioned in the game description :)
my sides. SF is now weeaboo? a tribute game set in neo-seoul would make more sense.

What? This looks hot as !@#$. I love the art style- having graphics look like this with a low pixel limitation is very tough. I'm all over it.

The first thing that comes to mind looking at the screenshots is Snatcher, and I see now that it was a source of inspiration, so until Konami ever decides to put that game on PC, this will do. :-)
I got it,I like the artstyle and the steam reviews were pretty good.

Kunovski: it looks really horrible, when I see those white control icons of mouth and hand, I feel sick :)

yet, it's probably a very good game (maybe even with normal modern controls), so I'm really looking forward to see some reviews here :)
You could also just go play the demo and judge for yourself.

I'm kind of kicking myself for not having pre-ordered the game over the weekend but I might splurge and buy it this weekend from the look of things. It also reminds me; need to finish Snatcher some day x3.

Then play it in a window. A fun game shouldn't be avoided just b/c it wasn't made with a large screen monitor in mind. Most games out there were not designed for that purpose and it doesn't make them any less fun.
