Night at the museum.


<span class="bold">The Dagger of Amon Ra</span>, Laura Bow's sophomore adventure as an intrepid journalist/crime-solver, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com!

A year after dealing with the Colonel's Bequest, Laura attempts to take a bite out of The Big Apple when assigned a story about the prized Egyptian dagger that just became part of the Leyendecker Museum's collection. Of course, the night of the grand opening will be riddled with bloody murder, shocked aristocrats, and many many clues.

Thank you GOG and Activision. :) It is the Activision Spring. Another 2,000+ votes completed.

I do think a bundle would have been better, but whatevs.

What about a bundle discount if you buy both at the same time ($10 instead of $12 if you buy them together), similar to other releases here?

I agree; they did it on a few Disney releases, but for some reason didn't keep it up.

Even moreso, though, I'd like evidence that GOG is still donating to ScummVM, DOSBox, nGlide, and other game presevation causes (it would make for good PR anyway).

i've stated my glee in the laura bow 1 thread, so...

...i guess i should say that i'm a little disappointed these aren't a bundle given the "historical precedent" of kq/sq, etc.

I wishlisted the ancient looking Colonels Bequest game, i know the game but never played it, it looks like one of the first games cause the graphics look very ancient ( pc 286/386 era)

I have already played these... Colonel's bequest I had on the Amiga.
I agree with the one who said these should have a Linux installer. And ScummVM and DODBox should count as searchable OSs. But. Yeah I'm happy to see than here and bought them already!

colonel's bequest was made /just/ before the jump to 286.

so, pc xt/at.

[these are both part of a sequence: colonel's bequest comes first and then dagger comes after. they both star the same protagonist.]

Always wanted to play this when I saw it in the game store back in the mid '90s. Played a lot of Sierra games but for some reaason never picked this one up.

Nice game additions! But I share the comments about releasing both Laura Bow games as a bundle and giving credit (and donating) to DOSBox and ScummVM.

And what's about this new, "standard" price of $5.94 instead of $5.99? Just for the sake of reminding me of regional pricing?

Does the "Audio and text: English" mean that the game has voice over?

It does not have audio speech, only audio sound f/x and music. One of the screenshots shows on-screen text for the dialog. As you may know, only the non-speech version has on-screen text for dialog. The speech version doesn't. The two versions used to be sold as two separate games. The Activation people may not even know there is a speech version. It is pure laziness not to dig up both versions. No surprise here.

Uh, nice. Played this one back in the day. I didn't get far but I have fond memories of it. I'm not that much into adventures anymore so I will pass for now but I'm definitely going pick it up eventually.

And speaking of forgotten Sierra adventures, I hope we will get Woodruff and the Schnibble (of Azimuth) soon. It was possibly my favourite adventure game back in the day. Would love to finally play the English original version of that one.
