Hello, does anyone know what happened to the F.E.A.R. games? I bought the first one couple of years ago and now I wanted to get the second one, but I cannot find any of these games on GoG anymore. Is it still possible to activate an old key to an unlisted game?

They are blocked for germans.

Redeeming a gifted key should still work though, even if it the game in question has been unlisted (not the case for F.E.A.R. 2, as pointed out by seppelfred).
Those never expire, afaik.

You can try using a VPN software. I don't know if that's allowed or not but it's worth a try.

It work. GOG only limits access based on IP (doesn't matter what your account lists as location). You might have to delete cookies etc. before you get the games displayed which you can access from whatever location the VPN gives out.
