Earth is screwed, you fly a spaceship in search of a planet which can sustain a new civilization.

I got Russia ("Oppressive Bronze Age Theocracy") and the US ("Corrupt Information Age Democracy") on my first two playthroughs. Heh.
Pretty good just as promised, Corrupt Information Age Democracy -- 8989pts on first playthrough. A bit more water on my next colony for sure.

Medieval Cosmic Enlightenment -- 9639pts... enough for today.

Nice how it takes such a short time to play through but does not feel that short.

hah: "Long-Term Technological Failure". Niiiice!
"Engaged Information Age Democracy" (Score: 10068)
Atlantis's ocean stretches to the horizon a blue sky. The colonists live in cities of steel and glass beneath the planet's open sky, on platforms floating on the planet-wide ocean. They live happy and fulfilled lives under the guidance of selfless elected officials. In the first city stand monuments to the 32 colonists who died building the first settlement and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.
My Result:

Planet Garden
Atmosphere: Breathable
Gravity: High
Temperature: Moderate
Water: Oceans
Resources: Rich
Features: Barren moon, Plant life, High-tech ruins, Dangerous ruins

Garden's squat, thick-limbed alien plants stretch away beneath a blue sky. The colonists live in squat cities of steel and concrete beneath the planet's open sky, beside rivers that flow into the planet's oceans. Poverty, exploitation and crime are rife, and the corrupt elected government does little to alleviate them. In the first city stand monuments to the 47 colonists who did not survive the journey, the 248 more who died building the first settlement, and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.

This is quite compelling. I've had two Information Age Post-Scarcity Utopias scoring over 10k, but the temptation to drop my colonists into the most nightmarish and hopeless situations is overwhelming.
