I had brought this idea up on the Crashday Discord. Crashday Redline Edition, a more updated version of Crashday v1.2, is on Steam, but I thought it would be cool to have the original versions, (v1.0, v1.1, v1.2) on GOG for people who also want the original as well. They can't really release Redline Edition on GOG, since it would be missing features, and the online wouldn't work as those systems are tied in with Steamworks.

They brushed the idea off, but what do you all think? Should they do it?

Sure they could, They could make online work via Galaxy.
Actually I'd appreciate it released here as any version and even without multiplayer. Perhaps they could reconsider?
Man I wish this would happen.
