we all love games no matter the operating system so please stand with us xp users and vote on this important vote for your menbers in the community who still want to use their xp operating system and play games in it...

the galaxy client is reason we having issues in some games as its pushed and makes xp games now need win 7 please think about us and i hope you will stand with us and thanks if you vote and also thanks for taking time to read this.....

I think we got about enough XP on here now we can all level up.

I noticed the lack of XP and Vista support on all the new releases, earlier this week. Since I won't be changing OS, especially Windows, I guess that lets me out for any new purchases here.

I mean, it's a nice gesture, but I seriously doubt they're going to bother. There's too few people who actually use it.

While I am not against XP compatibility, I can full well understand if keeping compatibility with an old OS version that hasn't been supported by MS for years has less priority.

So, not going to vote. Note, I do run a couple of GOG games (e.g. Dark Reign, and Broken Sword non-mastered) on my ancient XP PC for shits and giggles, so I am still a bit of an XP user myself. Mostly that XP PC is for my old retail games though, which may have severe problems on newer PCs.

Whilst I strongly disagree with galaxy and all that goes along with it, I really question the validity of this, even as a hardcore stick with the old stuff myself. XP is ancient now, years out of support by anyone. True it was a good OS, better than the god-awful vista which followed and win 8, but its way too old now. Surely recent events have shown you how vulnerable that software is, and with further lack of support from any firms in the future its just going to make it harder and harder to use it. Nothing is stoppage you keeping an image of it or an old machine, but for going forward it really is time to move on. I am not a huge fan of win 10, however I can tell you with some tweaking and careful use it is useable, and have not had any major problems with it, although the attitude of M$ nowadays is appalling, and if you really don't like that then there is always Linux, or dual boot both, so many options now.

Thanks guys for answering and i respect your answers but i have to disagree i been builiding pcs since 1970 and xp is not ancient its built on windows nt which windows 10 is also on right now,,

todays issues was windows 7 73% of the pcs that got the latest wanacry was windows 7 read the tech news,

i been a menber of many software design forums for 46 years but thanks for the answers i am asking our community to help those who use xp to respect their rights and just vote to help us like you would vote for the games here, you want xp games you want dos games so do we so why not help us?

if you notice the programs on this site use game engins all the way back to 1981, and dos is even older then that so saying xp is not a safe usable os is well ,,

i used it till this day for 17 years it runs over 6000 software game titles while win 7 and 8 and 10 on the other hand due to thir forced dx 10-12 makes them unstable to most of the older software and need i remind you this game site is selling games that came out over 30 years so err to say xp is outdated at 17 years is to be a joke when you buying games that use dos ect :

Please i didnt ask for us to take sides over microsoft selling only current os's to make money with their licing they change dx each new windows making the earlier dx games break a secert dx is just drivers windows locks games to a sdk build per os so they can make software designers relic each old title to the next os they also charge them per disc they sell of their software that runs in their current os, so each new windows makes old games have to be reliced on their updates all todays current hardware can run even dos 1.0 vesa software but now microsoft plans toblock this even more in next gen in bios they cliam its for security but anyreal hardware system builder knows their reason is is money ,,,

just so you know im on xp on todays hardware im using my dx12 windows 10 system as win xp its ture 64 bit i been running xp on a 64 bit system for 17 years so i can be backwards compatable to all software and its a dx 12 system so saying old software is anceint is funny since if you was to look at any windows software you would see they still using 2002 code too

if you really beleave software expires why you buying 30 year old games :)

im asking the Community to help fellow menbers here like when we unite and vote to get our old games to sell here,

each vote is from many differnt os users like windows xp-windows 7 windows 8 windows 10 and linux and even unix users aka mac users and thier oses still carry old code too due to the nature of assembly language which has only been updated 4 times thats the true os to the hardware of all pc's and macs...

This tread was not ment to be us disagreeing but us being gamers and helping each other :)
