One clue is the amount of gaming (it's pretty subtle, I know, you've got to have an eye for that).

Another is, uh, the pleasure ? Or the concentration ? When you play hoping that the level or game will end soon, or while thinking about everything except what the character is doing in that virtual world, maybe you're not quite in a gaming mood ? That said, it's a continuum. You can play casually, in the grey zone between not wanting a game and not wanting to do something else...

But usually the causes here are :

- Saturation ("been there done that" enough for a while).

- Distraction (other actvities or events, more stimulating because more pleasant or more meaningful, hooking you for a while).

Gaming is a bit like sherlock holmes' cocaïne, the way I see it.
Only fatigue can make game less. And first person shooters, I can play just an hour of them because that damn camera makes me sick
It's very difficult to get bored of video games simply because games are too varied and different, a game from one genre can be completely different than one from another. However it is possible to get bored if you're only playing games from one genre.

I agree with this one. Might want to get a check up.
Well, i like games, but i find myself able to be distracted by the silliest of things, like deep, unpopular discussions regarding the world (the people) and the universe (reality itself).

I'm not over gaming, but I find myself to have less patience with them. If i feel a game is padding itself out too much, i will probably stop playing it
If your basic needs are neglected for gaming.
Like you're super hungry, but you gotta keep playing.
Or you need to use the bathroom, but you gotta keep playing.
And maybe your home is being hit by a tornado and all your belongings are flying around as well as your family themselves, but you gotta keep playing.

On one hand, short games are bad, on the other, some things get boring. Grinding is a great example, especially if the grinding can't even be done in a fun and/or automatic way. Some people like it, others don't.
Occasionally I have felt like I need a different hobby or something. I just grab something in my book backlog, go to the gym, or do something else with my free time, and then always come back to gaming sooner or later. It happens when the game I'm into is failing to hold my interest and I don't feel a strong impulse to start any other game. I wouldn't call it being over gaming. It's just a cycle. :)

You must not finish many games then because most games are 90% filler/padding.
