Again, sorry to ask here, but the game specific forum is fairly deserted.

Could someone please confirm whether the original CD version allowed subtitles + speech simultaneously, or whether it was something SCUMMVM added?
I know it allowed both, unlike 1, but did it allow both at the same time.

The manual seems to suggest that it was either one or the other, and pressing T toggeled between the 2.

Incidentally, that new Simon is a real prick.
I just tested the original version of the game in Dosbox and the "T"-key does indeed switch from speech to subtitles and vice versa, so it does appear you can't have both simultaneously in those releases.
