timppu: You live in S Africa where it is very hot. You should get AC if you intend to play on a gaming laptop because otherwise it will fry.

Or move to Finland. It is now around -6 C degrees here, perfect for some laptop gaming action.
Wrong these inits were built for our climate.. tell you they are litterally cutting corners becuase there is no way the laptop we built and test in the artic will ever be used in normal environments... the fact you think the margins for error need to be 0% tells you why why have hardware that never dies older than the product 8 spent 4 times as much on.

When I told the store i need a laptop that lasts longer than a year... I meant it

So they have no excuse but to get their waranty as short as possible... 3months becuase they know.... no excuse for bad quality ever
Here's a piece of garbage from gigabyte... 25 years later it still boots and runs all games of it's era..

You people are allowing bad quality to be your idea of quality...

I've had a good quality laptop. Besides loking em for playing some games in bed i'd still rather have a desktop.

My idea of quality involves a large gap between consumer laptops and portable workstations, but there's an even larger gap between those and even the smallest of blade computers which live on your monitors.

A gaming laptop is so embedded in the former category as to leave a clear crater; a fine way to sucker a consumer out of money with the same cheap parts as your 110£ ASDA special, but now with glowing lights and fins.

A good laptop should be at a minimum, 25-50 mm when closed, and weigh at least 3.4 kilos, without the battery installed.

XeonicDevil: (....)
then, the air intake needs to be cooled by a four-pack of frozen drinks closed in a cartoon box with a pipe going to a fan case,
Lately fixed the fridge with the help of four frozen bottles of water. We can perpetually freeze bottles and let them cool and unload where it's needed until a new computer or fridge happens. Black magic : )
I usually sit on chairs. Sometimes even with a cushion. Sitting on a garbage PC sounds uncomfortable.

But to each their own, I guess. So you do you.
