Can I SLI the 2 following GPU's, as I can get afford a second one now.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GTX950-OC-2GD5-NVIDIA-1279-Graphics/dp/B0173IBW26 Already have this one in my PC

https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Graphics-Cards/ASUS-GTX-950-STRIX-Pci-E-Graphics-Card/B0142H5R7M My local shop has this one in stock.

Would combining these two cards cause any problems together, as they are both 950's, or would it be better to find the same one that I already have?.

Cheers

Used to be you absolutely had to have two identical GPUs in order to use them in SLI mode. Now I think it's okay to use different brands with different clock speeds. But not entirely positive. Maybe check out a tech site for more info. In any case, pretty sure you're better off with identical cards from the same manufacturer.

That being said, you might be better served to sell your old GPU for whatever you can get, then put that money and the money you'd spend on a second one to just upgrade your single GPU.
Yes you can, but it will run on the slower card's clock speed.
And you need a motherboard with SLI support.

Remember that suppot for Crossfire and SLI is not that common.

Also, you will have problems with too little VRAM.

2GB is low these days. You may be better off saving a little more for a single 970. THat will out perform the dual 950s in almost every way, and has lower heat overhead, as well as a larger VRAM.
Thank you for the reply's, which card do you think would be better for the price. Sounds like having only one GPU is the better option.

Bit of a sucker for Asus products & these 2 are within my budget if I sell the 950 I have at the moment.

Well, going that route seems intelligent to me.

Make sure the card will physically fit in your case, has the connection(s) you will need and that your power supply can supply it and has the cables for it. Telling this or that card, I will not do as I only have an almost antique card myself.

Good cards.

They're very similar. The OC has slightly higher clock speeds, but otherwise they're pretty closely matched. I do like the triple fan setup though.

What resolution are you going to be playing?

And (as noted) make sure you have a good enough power supply to handle it and it can fit in your case.

Thanks Themken, fitting it into the case isn't a problem & I recently upgraded the PSU to 600w, future proofing it :).

Have a good evening

I have been looking at each one's specs & they are very close. The resolution for the monitor is 1440x900, so that shouldn't be a problem for it. Choices, Choices, what do I choose?.

Probably better off getting the OC and selling the bundled promotion which will bring the price down.
