Touche
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfw_oFtKGyw

very good game, good voice acting, english with good frenchlike accent, the real english beggar at the start has a very good voice, back then the games were so good.

i have Touche - The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer (CD DOS) on retail when it came out
that wont run unless you spend hours making it run using settings.
now i have the scumm version so i can play one of my old games again.

Bermuda Syndrome (16bits) is not available , too bad i also have it on retail cd, and got it when it arrived
The creator of Conquest of Longbow, Christy Marx, hosts the game on her site here: http://www.christymarx.com/writing/longbowfiles.htm

I don't have much idea as to the legality of this, but considering she's the creator and she's offering it up, I'd say it at least isn't morally wrong :D.
Returns a 404 for me

That name rings a bell. She created Jem and the Holograms. I don't know why that bit of trivia was occupying space in my brain. Wow, look at all the credits she has under her belt: http://www.christymarx.com/writing.htm

Yes, she was quite prolific. I feel kinda sad that she ended up in Zynga, though.

You'll need Dosbox to play the game, though...

I've played through Countdown and I really didn't like it at all.

How about Maddog Williams?
Many of these games are abandonware and available for free on websites such as XTCabandonware.com and abandonia.com, including the Ecoquest games, Daughter of Serpents, Fable, Conquests of the Longbow and Hook, although you do need to run them in DOSBox. If you are unfamiliar with DOSBox, the best tutorial I've seen is by a YouTuber called PushingUpRoses - just plug in 'PushingUpRoses DOSBox' in YouTube's search bar.

I also hope all this is legit. XTCabandonware and Abandonia are generally very good at linking to GOG and Steam if a game becomes available on them, but I think I still saw Day of the Tentacle up for download on XTCabandonware (albeit not the remastered version) a couple of weeks ago.

There are many other websites around the place for this sort of thing but I prefer using the two I mentioned above, primarily because they are very good at taking games off their websites if they do ever become available for sale, but also because I have had fewer instances of malicious software being downloaded from them as they are filled with lots of suspect advertisments - you have been warned.

Technically, it isn't legit.

thanks for the info and the reply

personally i dont think 90% of all so called 'abandoned' games sites are legit, they just do something cause nobody warns them.
I am told that just because nobody argues about the things a person does (selling or offering old stuff for free)
automatically means it is legit, so i have my doubts.
Imho i think these games, the good part ,(they can dump the crappy text games and crappy 4 colors or 8 color games) should not be having a ??? status, someone should be aquiring them fixing them and then sell as old games, 4.99 or 5.99 euros like other good old games.

besides i only buy legal games on gog, retail in shops, some cheap games on steam, and some drm free casual on gamersgate.

edit: its a 2kb zip file :D hehehehe, and invalid
i erased it, funny site, anyway it was worth checking if it had a game.

ow, its that bad?
Maddog Williams? looks like a c64 game, looks ancient, but might be worth it, i do hope that annoying music can be turned off, its devastating my ears.

But seeing all those games , it does prove there are still enough good old games around waiting to be fixed to run on any windows, but i guess the time spending to fix all the games doesn't outweigh any possible profits.

New games are more likely to run on newer machines, to bad cause i favor old games 85% so thats my main goal, to get old good games, instead of weird vector graphics engines like most games seem to use, that pineaple thing looks like vectors.
Renowned explorer uses weird graphics, (i wont be getting that game after watching all videos on youtube)
i like the simple graphics of brave land (3 games ) better (own all three).
Invisble inc also uses adobe illustrator kind of graphics,.

I remember Countdown had a lot of pixel hunting and it had too many items, so that it was hard to tell what to use where. Also interacting with characters was a bit difficult. Just a lot of trial-and-error overall.

I have my own list of adventures games not yet on GOG, and it's pretty big.
One of this days I'll make a post and try to keep it up to date (as there are also a lot of new adventure games coming).

There's always the copywright issue. And the niche issue.
I know Nordic was willing to release here the two missing House Of Tale adventures, but GOG didn't want to. At least for now.

But yes, we still have some very important Sierra adventure missing, the Dynamix adventures, the Legend classics, Accolade Les Manley adventures, Delphine, Microprose's Phantom of the Opera, and many many more.

Yes, in a perfect world all of the old games that are good should have a digital release with an installer that will work on modern operating systems. To name but one, if they released the Laura Bow series on GOG, I'd buy them and delete the files I downloaded from abandonia. I also don't use Steam. When I buy my games, I like to own them completely which is why I love GOG, so it would be nice if they were able to release more of these old games on GOG. I hadn't even thought about playing Day of the Tentacle until I saw the remastered version on GOG. I have added it to my GOG wishlist and will definitely be buying it from GOG when I can afford it.

aha pixelhunting, yes i know that can be awfull when we have to go on a pixelhunting safari in order to finish a game.
In some hidden object games (hog for short) it happens aswell, but usually the gamers complain about that in time so they are able to fix it.

i might get it, just might, but i dont like that open GL usage and sls or whatever the stuff is called, if they stick to dx 9 or 10 that will do, since its a remake, its not a next generation first class high FPS shooter nor an AAA game...
I know that i can play 99.% of the games that dont specifically need open gl sls whatever.
