chromeneon: Can anyone tell the hour the Weekly Staff Picks promos usually start?
avatar
park_84: Right about now, I think.
Might be a few hours still.

Also is your picture just a grey square or is it a bug?

muntdefems: Tomorrow we shall know: if there's no new Weekly Staff Picks, prepare your wallets and your sleep-deprivation drugs as we will be entering Insomnia-land on Tuesday (after this weekend's deals expire).
Maybe even today (Monday) - if I'm not mistaken, the Spring Insomnia of 2014 started before the weekend promo happening at the time ended (a bunch of adventure games on sale -I recall this because I bought Machinarium from that one). So if you haven't stocked on unhealty sleep-deprivation pills yet, you should hurry...

Breja: I'd definately rather have a normal sale than Insomnia. The only Insomnia I like is the one with Al Pacino an Robin Williams. I just don't like gimmicky sales. Let's just get all the deals nicely laid out, let's have time to breathe and choose what we buy.

If we get an Insomnia sale I might buy some stuff, it happens to be something I really badly want and it's on sale at the right moment, but I refuse to watch the site like a hawk because marketing gimmicks.
This, absolutely this. I dislike Insomnia sales as well, but yes, if I see something I absolutely want and am in a position to buy it, I'll try to do so. But I'm not planning to lose my sleep over this stuff as well, I have enough sources of anxiety in my real-life and I'd prefer not to add the anxiety of "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, I must pay quick, quick, quick!!!!"... But if other people are masochists like that, well, whatever floats their boat...
no weekly staff picks for today...

I guess we all know what that means :D

A DRM-Free release of GTA V?
Yay! \O/
Sale!
I do hope to see some movies discounted, especially Journeyquest - it'll clear up at least a bit of my wishlist.

So far there are no release streams scheduled for this week. https://teamup.com/kse3cd10acc46016fc/
OK, and can anyone who's participated in an Insomnia sale tell at what time they start? Like I'm guessing evening obviously, but EU evening and USA evening are two different things.

To add to that question, as I missed the last one:

How many units of the games are usually on sale (as I heard they were limited)?
IN-SOM-NIA! IN-SOM-NIA! IN-SOM-NIA!!! :D

I don't really think Insomnia sales are as bas as some people say... First, I assume the limited number of copies for each deal allow for bigger discounts. And secondly, thanks to the thorough following of these sales here on the forum you can more or less easily predict when the repeat for that particular game you missed is going to appear again, so you can grab it at the second iteration.

Depends on the game and the times it went through the rotation.

Example:
Lets say Planescape Torment starts with 600 copies at 90% off.
Once those 600 copies are sold the next deal with a new game appears. But missing that Planescape deal doesn't mean you can't still get it for that discount. That deal will re-appear around 2 times more any maybe with more than 600 copies the next time.

Of course the number of copies can also decrease with each rotation but that usually depends on the speed. Fast selling games tend to get more while stuff that stops the sale might get less copies available in the next rotation.

Sorry, I got used to forum bugs. :P

Are you sure about that? I only experienced first hand the last Insomnia sale (last year's Double Insomnia), and I'd swear the amount of copies of a given game was always the same throughout the rotations...

Thanks, was just wondering there was a fixed stock. But good to know they will appear more than just once.
