I know this survey probably applies to SE's western franchises such as Deus Ex: HR, but I would be super stoked if the Final Fantasy series received a DRM-free release. I think I have purchased VII at least 3-4 times, and I wouldn't mind buying it again. The battle boosters and QOL improvements in the PS4 port really helped give the game new legs.

They do even ask specifically what you expect from FF, and have quite a few questions comparing WRPG and JRPG, so doubt it's just for the Western franchises.
As for FF, played 7 once, was nice but quite enough, and did give 8 a good shot but couldn't finish it, chars too weak for the castle at the end with no skills when they start it and didn't bother to grind, liked the game but dreaded the gameplay, or more specifically elements of the combat, if I may say so. Would try PC ports of 9/10/10-2/12 though (13/13-2/15, probably not so much).

Later edit: Oh, there are PC ports for those. Didn't even know.

8 is really not the best place to start.

I would suggest giving some of the earlier ones a try. I happen to consider 1, 4, and 5 to all be decent games for a newcomer to the series. 3 and 6 are also reasonable, though 6 is where the series started taking a direction I don't like. 2 is like 8 in the way that it is not a recommended choice for someone new, as you can easily fall into a trap that makes the endgame frustrating (not just difficult, but difficult in a way that is frustrating and will test the player's patience). (Hint for FF2: Shields good, heavy armor bad.)

Just filled it all out. I used all the text boxes to pretty much say give GOG platform a chance to support your old games at least.

It never hurts to keep hope alive, especially when they ask for our feedback. I'm hoping they're smart enough to realize that GOG is a great potential market, especially if they get enough people requesting their games.

Funny thing is they have games here already, but stopped releasing them for some reason, maybe because they decided DRM-free wasn't worth it.

I used to struggle with that as well, but it's been a long time since the EA of Trip Hawkins, Caveman Ughlympics, Starflight, Centurion, gatefold record style packaging, MULE, Hardhat Mack, etc, etc, etc. :(
