Themken: No, it is on Steam so you need Steam, true that. Free as in no charge but not free as in open source or free of some compulsory service signup. You need a GOG account for the free games on GOG too.
Yep, but I don't need clientware to download them. If I sold gluten free food in gluten bags, I would get into trouble. Claiming steam free when steam client needed to access is much the same. Another flagrant steam advertising scam, some people must be being paid.
