Alright so I've been doing some research

Most of the dead keys on G2A (and Kinguin) are a result of snipers getting to the key the same time you are but they're quicker at activating

Kinguin's Live support is quick to access and very helpful

G2A...well, I think I've discovered the problem; their Hong Kong customer service doesn't speak Englilsh
so there's no use writing to them.

I've found that if you get a dead key on G2A just fill in a ticket for it and don't give the seller feedback
G2A won't pay the seller until you report the key was good

There's a stand down to be refunded; if you get a dead key prepare to wait three weeks for refund
(Kinguin is within twenty-four hours)

Don't write support they will just mock you because your letter to them will only read as
'Meow meow meow! MEOW meow meow!'

It's best to avoid shady key resellers like G2A or Kinguin, i know people and heard from even more they do not care about living up to their own rules or service and the chance that they outright ignore you is not uncommon either or that developers withdraw your key because it's stolen. They are shit and should not be given advertisement.

It's even worse that their policies and lack of curation hurts smaller developers, makers of Darkwood outright stated that they prefer you pirate their game rather than buying from these sites since it cost them money to right G2A's wrongs.

In short: it's a gamble that might end up giving you the short end of the stick as well as developers, they don't give a crap about their own customers, sometimes you might end up lucky like you did with Kinguin but it's not worth it.

Ain't Hong Kong people speak 3 language, Cantonese, English and Mandarin? I found it hard to believe a international market space CS didn't speak English.
Agreed, using shady sites like this actively hurts publishers more than piracy, as it cost them money rather than just not giving them money.

Other than Witcher there are no games on GoG which you can get legitimate keys outside of the GoG store.

That's not entirely accurate:
Buying Everspace on Humble gives you a GOG and a Steam key, buying War for the Overworld gives you a GOG or a Steam key

Cheers for the correction
I see you have not stopped buying (and complaining) from those criminals.
Never thought about turning legit?

The easiest way is to not buy from them unless you're willing to lose your bet. Because buying from them is a gamble.

Why are you paying money to thieves? Just pirate for free instead, you're getting an illegal copy either way and can buy a legal game (or something else for yourself) with the money you "saved".

Exactly. It's pretty appalling for carnival73 to insinuate that HongKongers don't speak, read and write in English. Also I think it's not right to support grey market key resellers at the expense of game devs.

I don't want to give myself nightmares
the best way to survive G2A is by not using it. problem solved.
