In case you were running out.

Surviving Mars just got another free airdrop, this time full of particularly enigmatic contents. This Mysteries Resupply Pack brings three new strange events for you to unravel, while you struggle to keep your domes going.

- St. Elmo's fire has you dealing with curious ghost lights keeping your colonists awake
- In The Philosopher's Stone the colony encounters some crystalline entities that will be the cause of much confusion and intrigue
- The arrival of a floating monolith directly above your settlement is reason enough to investigate in Metarton

To celebrate these crunchy mystery bites, Surviving Mars is 30% off for the duration of the Summer Sale.
bump
Considering how hyped this game was on some particular circles, mainly on twitch and some YouTube channels -- it got extensive coverage on GOG's own official twitch channel, and most of the GOG streamers seemed like they had been anticipating it for quite some time --, it's kind of odd that any news regarding the game get such low activity and (I assume?) attention.

This is not my kind of game, anyway, and the fact GOG is having a sale might have something to do with the lack of activity on this thread, but even Project Zomboid's update got more forum activity just the other day, and it happened during the sale, as well.

Check back tomorrow. As you'd imagine with E3 and a sale, it's pretty busy :)

groze: *snip*
I watched one of the Let's Play folks with this game. It had interest but two hours in and a series of asteroid showers wiped everything out. He started over and got hit yet again.

Stuff like that frustrates me. I;m sure there's settings that can be changed though.

But just wait a bit. 'Mars', 'airdrop', and 'free' are common terms made by some of the bitcoin spammers. Have a feeling we'll see bots here shortly.

Fair enough. :P

Like I said, it's not like I'm particularly interested in the game, myself, I just found it a bit odd. And I guess it's a better bump to the thread than just posting 'bump', at least we can engage in conversation. :)
NICE :D
Air drop? Lootboxes? Where is the 'ignore game' button?

There are no literal air drops, and certainly no lootboxes. I think you completely misunderstood the announcement. (Unless that was supposed to be humor?) It's basically some free DLC that consists of a few new events.
I get that you can stir more public attetion or whatever with a "free DLC", but I think it's silly. Just patch it in.

A good reminder that one should not jump to conclusions :-) but the wording sounded just like they gave everyone a free box to attract more customers.

Well, it's marketing. Considering the failure of the game (salty! opinions! etc), it is understandable they need to do something with it. Mmm, with "they" i mean Paradox, not HG.

Also, the discount is because the Pdox summer sale. And it's worth noting the big discount to this game given it's recent release. Battletech is getting a 20% also (just a month and half after release) but not here, interesting (both the early discount and not being discounted on GOG)

And all while DLC's for their own games like Stellaris or EUIV are getting just a 10% discount, as always, and Stellaris Apocalypse was released even before Surviving Mars...

It's all a marketing mistery, indeed. A real Paradox.
It's a nice thing to do... and hey if they want to do it as a free DLC?
It's their game. As a free patch it would have been overlooked.
So it get's at least some attention.
From a marketing point of view it makes sense... also it is nice customer service.
So I'm good. :)

Nice, quirky game that I haven't had the time to delve all that deeply into.
With all the additions it already has going through the patches most of the things that bugged me are gone.
And the expansions are not even in sight. :)

Now that they've added dome connectors the game is so much better for me.

Yeah, those are godsends. :)
The game is much better with them.
Luckily they brought them in with a patch and not with a expansion.
Good move by them.
