Good thing it's optional. Big no way from me on both counts, colors (don't want dark themes) and layout (first thing I see, more empty/wasted space).
high rated
Guys, the great thing about this theme is that it's relatively easy to adapt. Especially compared to the good old carbon and aluminum themes. So it gives both GOG and us a good basis to make more skins.

Personally I don’t like the colours, but more options are always welcome, so thanks for that :-)
For the first time today, I got a purple notification dot for an event on my profile activity feed. I don't really care about that one way or another in principle, but I do wish there were a way to disable this particular type of notification in settings.

On a related note: since we've now got site notifications for things under the [username] dropdown menu heading once more, I wouldn't think it would be too much trouble to bring back site notifications for library updates.
Hum. Purple is a pretty nice color. I certainly like it.

Now if only the global menu would match to boot.

InkPanther: There's a small surprise you can find in My Settings -> Forum color scheme (skin).

jpolgesek: So it's officialy public at this point :P It's still a work in progress, but hopefully it will make browsing the forums a little nicer (especially on mobile).
If you liked previous skins, don't worry - we have no plans to remove them.
Enjoy! (and let me know what you think :D)
Thank you JPOLGESEK for the new Forum color scheme, I activated it. As it is different to the other options, I will need time to get used to it. There are two things I already noticed. The first, it does not have the forum path at the bottom, forcing me to go back to the top of the page and from there, I can easily click General discussion or Community if those are what I need. Would be possible to keep the forum path on the bottom too considering there are empty space available? The second, to avoid misspelling user names, I copy them from their posts. The problem is, as soon the mouse cursor is over the user name, an emergent window appears with upper case names, reason why your user name pasted that way. The problem is I like to use the user names with their original letter case.
GOG's front page looks different...

- new top lists
- top wishlisted 1,2,3

edit:
Are the page elements and fonts larger, too? It feels like 120% zoom but it's not my browser setting.

Chrome on PC is the only place I see it the old way still. Maybe it is related to cookies since I usually load the page on chrome? Everywhere else the front page elements are huge especially the bestsellers/new releases - this looks horrible. I have to scroll up and down to see the top 10 bestsellers - you just can't see them all in one screen
Yeah, the page seems new. Now it's finally responsive after years!

Seen this several times. Deleting cookies and retrying usually fixes it and i get the regular? website.

Also sometimes in web search i get:

Welcome to GOG.com | best PC games DRM-free instead of GOG.com. First time i thought it was a fake gog website with phishing intents.

ps. Please don't force this awful design on us. It makes front page utterly useless and super ugly (well, worse than it already is). And as always news at the top please.

Well, now has changed too and i see what you say... this new style is quite weird, seems not fit well on the screen. Gog sabotaging himself, :)

The new releases list next to bestsellers is also new I think? Or was it in different place before?

They may be doing some A/B testing. The huge 'Explore our catalogue' banner at the bottom (that prevents the use of the End key as a fast way of reaching the news section) has appeared, vanished and reappeared for me over the past few days.
Even if I don't see any immediate problems with the new layout, it isn't exactly beautiful. Too big, too much wasted vertical space. It might look good on an upright 21:9 mobile display, but not on the desktop.

And this is quite typical for GOG: Whenever they plan something new and big, they introduce it on Friday afternoon right before signing off for the weekend. What could possibly go wrong?
