For the love of Mary, does anyone know where I can find the save file for The Messenger?
Couldn't find it in documents or appdata.
Would anyone know the name of the save file it would give me so I can search?
Much appreciated

I would assume it's in appdata, one of the subfolders. According to pcgamewiki the steam version holds its data there, so the gog version shouldn't be different. Is there a galaxy or gog folder on your machine, I have seen this appearing recently so possibly in there? But is should be appdata. Also you could try the install location.
I think I found it:

..\AppData\LocalLow\Sabotage Studio\The Messenger\SaveGame.txt

Which reminds me that I still need to set up junction points for a bunch of other savegame folders too after my latest installation spree.

JAAHAS: ...junction points...
Is this some new technology, or even an old one I've never heard of? Or is is something lost in translation?

EDIT: Well... considering that this is what google returns, when I search for this term:
"What the heck are Directory Junction Points?",
I guess I'm not the only one clueless. Learning new things every day.

I prefer to separate my savegame backups from the OS backup images, while keeping what little non-gaming stuff I have on the Documents folder on those images. Relocating the saves to another partition accomplishes that goal quite nicely.

Should I feel the need to restore the OS from an image I can now just copy a few small files if they are more recent than the latest image, restore the OS, copy those newer files back and then all I need to do to continue playing is to possibly run a batch-file to restore any missing junction points and merge some registry keys instead of wasting time on copying gigabytes worth of savegames out of the OS partition and back or wasting that time during each occasion I image or restore the OS partition if the saves were kept on it.
