The Outer Worlds 2 - Official Announce Trailer - Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2021
Now that's what I call an honest trailer...
They're taking the mickey out of the industry, nice to see.
With that being said, I still find the first game overpriced (don't know if 50-60€ on discount is justifiable especially given it was released in 2019). I had the chance to play a bit on the PS4, but ultimately it failed to keep me interested. Perhaps too colorful and cartoonish, maybe the shooting mechanics, I can't put my finger on it. Or it was the pre-release hype, so it never reached my expectations knowing Obsidian. And to top it all off, the timed exclusivity deal was disappointing to say the least.
Now, with The Outer Worlds 2 there are talks of XBOX exclusivity. Sure, it will come to PCs as well, but this is just Microsoft acting up, you know, just like Sony. So, I suddenly lost a great deal of interesting in the sequel (just noticed the typo, my vision is awful these days, interest I meant).

Well, if I ever get to play the super-duper expensive first one (seriously, I could get like four other RPGs for that price) and like, I'll be glad to know there's a sequel.
I think the question for most of us PC gamers here (on GOG) now is: is this coming to GOG?

Especially since the 1st game's here.

Sure, it might come to Steam and all since M$ has been bringing a lot of their stuff there - but, does M$ even have any of their games here on GOG?

Yeah, especially the complete bundle. Ouch.

That's something I expect, too. I doubt that it will come to gog anyway.
@viperfdl:
Just as Breja said, for that price one can grab a few games, perhaps even better.
I understand The Outer Worlds was received positively and in a way I can see why, it's not a bad game by any means, just overpriced and overhyped, riding on Fallout's popularity (it was advertised in that light). But the price thing is out of Obsidian's hands, I think. If I recall correctly Private Division was the publisher, now they're under Microsoft. I don't see how that will benefit the consumers in the long run.

First, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and now The Outer Worlds 2... What's next?
This is not good at all.
Glad for those looking forward to more Outer Worlds, but this seems to slam the door in the face of everyone that was hoping for the original Fallout creators (at least the ones at Obsidian, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky) to basically be put in charge of the franchise again and right the course as far away as possible from the direction Bethesda has taken it over the last 5-6 years.

Not sure if they still got it in them and would have been able or even wanted to right the course for Fallout though, considering how the Outer Worlds turned out under Cain and Boyarsky's direction.
Funny announcement vid.. Might be an ok game, played the first and it is a completel rip of fallout, but ok in its own right. Far too expensive though as others point out, though I would have brought it here, now it’s just another on long list of lost sales. I wouldn’t expect this 2nd to come here, perhaps after Xbox then epic exclusivity periods it will then go to steam, then maybe here.

Think Obsidian makes pretty good games... but don't think I will miss them too much if they "go exclusive."

I think it'll never come to GOG now that they are under Microsoft, even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 looks like it'll not be released on GOG after the latest statements from the developers.
thats a revolution i say! they ACTUALLY telling the truth. why no one else did come up with this idea?
I absolutely love the first game so I'm very hyped for this. I'm honestly surprised they'd announce that at the same time as Starfield (which I'm even more hyped for) but I'm certainly not complaining.
Good, I haven't played The Outer Worlds Yet, and there we have the new one. And those who claim the trailer is straight to the point are the ones who preorder Ubisoft and EA's games.
First game was good, but a little underwhelming as far as content goes, not to mention, I really, and I mean REALLY disliked almost all of my companions except the preacher. The writing was good and subpar, character development was just...it felt like they shoehorned things in that didn't need to be there, to hit certain bulletpoints, but ultimately added absolutely nothing of worth to the overall story arcs, and the character backstory arcs.

That said, it was pretty, exploration was good, but I think I would have preferred less companions and more exploration, as I feel that aspect was one of the better things they did with it.

What I would want in a sequel is simple. More. More planets/bases, more interesting content, more mainline quests that take you all over, and more interesting towns and places to explore. What I don't want more of is bad companion designs, and even worse writing.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm not preordering it, especially not if they go completely Xbox exclusive. My guess is that they won't, although it may start out as a timed exclusive before it hits PC.
