Not going into conspiracy theories, common core is most likely a sham pushed by M$ so the tests it mandates will require schools to buy more Window$. OK that is a conspiracy, but not very controversial.

State of emergency isn't declared, and with a country as big and economically valuable as the US, everything the govt does under that will go through a fine-toothed comb. Gun control seems more like misplaced anger as to what is causing school shootings.

Well the darker truth is that Federal mandates, usually UNFUNDED ones, are actually tied to the official bribe platform they have with the State-Fed relationship. Some state rejects common core or no child left behind? Simple solution - Fed goes in and pulls highway funds or money for new drug rehab centers until rebellious state complies. It's an unspoken gimmick the Federal government plays out with the states every single day, and hardly anyone says a word about it. It is quite literally government sponsored bribery... legislative extortion would be an even better term.

It's all messed up. Perhaps more messed up is decades ago we used to rally together in groups and protest changes in tens of thousands and surround the white house and the like. Today with the economic problems we are so busy just trying to get by that we can't just leave our jobs to demand changes, and so a number of these things are passing when clearly they shouldn't. TPP being one of them.

Common Core is one of the worst things developed in the name of "education."

The following image is what will happen to math under it. This is more reason why I would love to see more decentralization (not complete but some) of formal education and why if I ever have children, I will do whatever I can to send them to private schools and have them homeschooled with tutors.

Also, I agree that there is a giant push to a "one world government" with elitist pricks running things top to bottom and people being reduced to interchangeable economic units and I would elaborate on how this is one of the reasons why I support nationalism and talk about globalist interests but then it would lead to me getting accused of anti-semitism.
