Sarisio: So what are the current news on Titan Quest? I have literally become obsessed with this game.
Current news, is no news, as of yet. And that gog might never have the chance and permit to distribute this game...
avatar
tinyE: I always get sick of that game by the time I get to Delphi.
avatar
tinyE: Titan Quest on GOG?

Man I'd shit gold bricks if that happened. :D
Wow, you certainly changed your tune. I guess things picked up a bit after Delphi.

No but Delphi wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't have to go dig up the disc every time I wanted to play. :P

Fair enough. It's actually been a long while since I played a game that required a disc to play.

Nah, you are lying. :P

Sarisio: So what are the current news on Titan Quest?
The latest official comment by a representative of Nordic Games indicated that they wanted to restore the game's online multiplayer servers (which were taken down when Gamespy shut down), before they released the game here. Nothing else, for the time being.

Which is a bit annoying as some of us would just like the single player portion DRM-free. Was the multiplayer even heavily played in the first place before the Gamespy shutdown?

If nobody played it, I doubt they would bother wasting money and time into reviving the servers. Also, relaunching the multiplayer servers might be a nice advertising point, both for GOG and for Nordic.

Well, in any case I wish they would just release it and Red Faction Guerrilla here already and put in a disclaimer about multiplayer not yet available or something. The longer they wait, the more sales will be going to the Steam versions instead.

Red Faction: Guerrilla never had a DRM-Free version, so it wouldn't be as easy. As for Titan Quest, that's GOG's problem/choice.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: No. Windows 7 onwards, they have some installation problem that completely prevents you from even installing them. I personally guarantee that, as i own the Gold Edition (both main game and expansion) in legit, retail copy.

Also, even digital distributors face exactly the same predicament. Steam forums have a section devoted to exactly this problem, with solution. Following that, though, myself, didn't help in installing the game.

In installation, i put the code and "next" button is still grayed out. Last time i successfully played it, was in XP.

shaboo_de: I own the US Gold Edition (with artbook and soundtrack CD) and had absolutely no problems installing and playing it on 64-bit WIn 7.
Likewise, I have the original CD release and the separate expansion, and they've worked fine on Windows 7 64 bit and I'm pretty sure they're OK on Windows 10 since I upgraded to that too. Can't recall having to do anything special to get it running, just installed.

Hmmm, quite a problem indeed. Hopefully Nordic gets that sorted.
