I preferred learning science and technology by watching Look Around You television programme.

It was a good show but I do remember if got a fair amount of teasing for what it got wrong. Still, I can't blame them for being excited, it was an exciting time for new innovations! I'm sure floating bicycles and robot snooker players will have their day eventually.

Well, not quite robot snooker players, but I did see Ronnie in the US recently, playing a virtual game with the headset and such, he fell over trying to lean on the table.
For floating bicycles, well, uber announced they are looking at flying taxis...
