OK so this is my first time using Ubuntu 18.04 + GOG but every time i try to launch the launcher i get a fatal error!

"Connection to GOG Galaxy Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown"

Is there someone that knows a solution or a form of fixing the issue ? i did a search and this issue seems to effect many other platforms windows, Mac , and apparently Ubuntu too since this is a ongoing issue is there a newer release that fixes the problem? i'm not really familiar with what is causing it please help??
How are you using Galaxy with a Linux distro?
Using Galaxy with Ubuntu (with WINE) doesn’t sound like a good idea.
You should stick with stand-alone installers, and try projects like ./play.it or Adamhm's Linux Wine Wrappers if you want a really smooth experience.

There is no Linux version of the Galaxy client so better use the offline installers (or tarballs if any of those are left). Make sure you download the Linux version, or use Wine (see above)!

First of all, GOG and GOG Galaxy isn't the same thing. Galaxy is the client, GOG is a company and its various services; I'm currently browsing their forum using a web browser.

There is as of yet no Linux support for Galaxy, so that would likely be why it isn't working. If you get it to run anyhow, I'm sure there are people here who would like to know how you made it work. There is an unofficial Linux client called Comet, but it seems heavily restricted compared to Galaxy. You can read about it here. I haven't tried it myself.
