I recently picked up a copy of this classic pc game at my local thrift store. Will I still have to purchase the game through this site to play it, or is there some kind of way for me to play this game with the current pc that I have that doesn't run this game to begin with because the resolution is too high on my current system? Thank you gaming community.

If you bought the DOS version you could presumably get it running via DOSBox (if you want to take the time), I'm not sure about the Windows version. You could try asking on Reddit for help (like the Warcraft subreddit) but somebody else may pop in here to help also eventually. Ultimately GOG's version is almost certainly easier to set up than your copy.
