I'm posting this here because during my many Gothic threads here on the main forum, I recall at least one, maybe two others were talking/thinking about using Merlin's Texture Pack for Gothic 2. I started a thread in the Gothic Series forum about this, but since I found a second example, I though I'd mention it here as well.

Merlin's Texture Pack for Gothic 2 NoTR results in some things not being able to be accessed. I've now found two examples. One a dragonroot on the gravel area before the rickety bridge on the way to the pyramids/portal entrance and the second a stone tablet in the cave also near there that has two shadowbeasts in it with the corpses of an orc warrior and a dead sheep in there.

Using Merlin's texture pack you can't get either one. Removing the texture pack reveals them. Funny thing with the stone tablet in the cave, once I figured out what was going on, I looked closely and you can see the "glowing effect" that stone tablets exhibit sort of "through" the rock that Merlin's Texture pack added, but pressing the action key still doesn't allow for picking it up. The only way is to remove the rock by removing Merlin's texture pack. For info purposes, both examples of things that are there but you can't see or pick up due to Merlin's Texture pack are the result of rocks being placed over them. Screenshots included in the linked post in the Gothic series forum.

Again, just posting this here because I do seem to recall a person or two considering using this texture pack and I wanted them to see it here in the main forum where we discussed it previously.

Kinda sorta related... there are items you can't get in the valley of mines with the vanilla textures. I think this was true in both g1 and g2, though it's been so long I'm not sure. I remember some blocked caves had hidden chests, and at least one barrel had a statue inside.
